“Dude, I fucking hate you,” Shen Yuan said the second Shang Qinghua entered his office, “You could have just let yourself fall to doom by telling them about yourself, but no. I had to be roped in too. Now Shen Qingqiu basically chewed me out for comparing him to ‘some lowly pervert’ who was simping over his husband. Like what the heck?!”

“Nah, nah, you got yourself into that one, bro,” Shang Qinghua defended himself, “I only mentioned the dude from the comment thread to him. You were the one who thought it was him who had transmigrated too. Sorry that Shen Qingqiu is able to figure that one out.”

Shen Yuan snorted, but he didn’t say more.

“Thanks for helping with paperwork though, buddy. Helped me to have time for a great weekend,” Shang Qinghua said, well aware that Shen Yuan had only helped because he had been ordered to along with other people who had drastically failed some calculator work Shen Qingqiu had forced them to do, “Like, I had the greatest time ever. Maybe a bit exhausting, but in hindsight it was really great.”

“Has Mobei-jun hit your head very hard and you started liking it because of the brain damage?” Shen Yuan mocked.

“Well… He did hit some spot on my body, but it was more inside and definitely lower than my head,” Shang Qinghua said, grinning, “It was so good, you gotta try that out sometime. The airplane really shot towards the sky several times that weekend. The man really got some endurance, I’m telling ya. Cucumber-bro? Cucumber-bro, take your hands off your ears!”

“You’re disgusting dude, I didn’t wanna know!” Shen Yuan complained, looking like he wanted to beat this lecherous old man into a pulp, “I came here for business, so shut up!”

“Fine, I'm quiet already,” Shang Qinghua grumbled, “What does Cucumber-bro have on his heart? Tell Airplane-bro your worries, my man.”

Shen Yuan rolled his eyes at the overexaggerated friendliness from the other man. “Why the heck have I been continuously getting strange System notifications? It keeps unlocking new quests and none of them are making sense to me,” he said.

“Oh really? I have only been getting quests canceled because it makes no sense for me to do them anymore,” Shang Qinghua said smugly, “What quests have you been getting?”

“You bastard…” Shen Yuan mumbled, hearing that his life was getting worse by the minute while this old coot could laze away, “It says that I have to ensure fame for the protag and help him get stronger. I already see myself as his sidekick, doing good deeds with him just to be ignored and not even thanked!”

“Well that is life my friend. You are not the only one getting blatantly ignored in the face of the protagonist,” Shang Qinghua said with little pity for him, “Last time Mobei came around and just casually insulted Zhangmen-shixiong. And that although even after the OP training session in the Abyss Luo Binghe never managed to defeat him without using unfair means. Aiya…whatever. I have long stopped to bother. At least the child will appreciate you. You will be like the shining star in his sky that he will admire for the rest of his life.”

“At least something,” Shen Yuan sighed, “Well, I suppose I will have to find him then and help with his training. That will be fun. Shen Qingqiu will be delighted. He hates me.”

“Nah, I’m sure he’s fine now,” Shang Qinghua said, “That thing with the stair sweeper will be forgotten. Though he said you should keep your fingers off of… No, wait, he may have an issue with you helping with Luo Binghe’s training.”

Shen Yuan pulled up an eyebrow questioningly.

“Nevermind, forget it. Luo Binghe is nice isn't he? Quite the cutiepie, hm?”
