After the dinner had ended rather unceremoniously, given to Old Master Chen’s unwillingness to talk to any of them again, everyone went back to their rooms. Yue Qingyuan once more followed Shen Qingqiu into his and the second the door shut behind them, he began to laugh.
“I can't believe you actually said that aloud,” he said, holding his stomach.
“He just pissed me off so much, I couldn't hold back. I'd also rather have not said that in front of the children,” Shen Qingqiu sighed, “I hope they won't think less of me because of my poor self control…”
“I think after this they have even more respect for you,” Yue Qingyuan said in a serious tone, “You insulted him without him even understanding what you said. Though humiliation isn't the best weapon, I must admit. But he had behaved rather badly towards you, so it is understandable that you are fed up.”
Shen Qingqiu smiled and went over to Yue Qingyuan to hug him a little. He still felt slightly agitated so he needed this to calm down.
Yue Qingyuan happily returned the hug and momentarily he laid his chin on top of the other's head. “And I have to admit something,” he said, “It made you incredibly attractive…”
“Oh, so if I offend someone, that's what gets you going?” Shen Qingqiu asked, “Good to know.”
“You standing up for yourself and maybe additionally making fun of someone else,” Yue Qingyuan corrected, “But you are attractive in any scenario, so the one you named is true too.”
“Is that so? So even the scenario in which I tell you that it's time to leave because it's late makes me attractive?” Shen Qingqiu asked.
Yue Qingyuan didn't answer, but he didn't move to leave either. In fact, when Shen Qingqiu tried to interrupt the hug, he realized that the man had just set on clinging to him. At first Shen Qingqiu found it cute and let it happen, but when he really couldn't wriggle himself out of this, he had to speak up.
“Qi-ge, please. I'm serious,” he said, trying to remove the other's arms by force.
“No one saw me enter the room. Xiao Jiu, please… I can't go another night alone knowing you're right next door,” Yue Qingyuan pleaded.
“You know why I'm doing this. You will also have to leave the room and we can't be so lucky that every time the corridor will be empty,” Shen Qingqiu replied, “This is the last time, I promise. Tomorrow I want to be out of here anyways.”
Yue Qingyuan sighed painfully and slowly let go. “You promise?” he asked to make sure.
“I promise.”
Yue Qingyuan nodded slowly and then he quietly walked towards the door, looking behind himself a couple times, as if he was going to not see Shen Qingqiu for two years. When he was gone, Shen Qingqiu laid down on his bed, staring at the wall unhappily as he waited for Yue Qingyuan to do the same. As he waited, he started to think a little. He actually didn't like this situation at all either and in the end it would only cause him to go nights without sleep, being in a rather bad mood as a result. And for what? So they wouldn't have to deal with an old man's judgment? They had never cared. Or at least Shen Qingqiu knew he hadn't. And being traceable was not really an issue either. This man was nothing against them in their position. Even if they were to offend him earnestly, what should he do? Now he truly began being angry at himself. Just why did he always have to make nonsensical decisions?
“Qi-ge?” Shen Qingqiu asked when he still hadn’t heard any word from the other room.
“Hm?” Yue Qingyuan returned, still sounding very down.
