"We captured this boy three days ago," a man in black robes said, "He is a bit feisty and it took a while, but now we have him."
"What am I supposed to do with that kid?" another man asked and looked at the boy in the cage who stared daggers into his body, "He's too old to go begging and if he's as you say he'll try to flee at every opportunity that he gets."
"Forgive me boss," the man in black said, looking to the floor a little awkwardly.
The boss sighed and got near the cage to look at the boy a little closer. He might not be too clean, but his eyes were clear and of an extraordinary color. He looked more like a pretty boy from a rich family than an orphaned kid from the streets. Women might not like that type too much, but there were enough guys that would lick their fingers to get their hands on this boy.
"Hm...You know what? This boy has a pretty face. Maybe we can sell him at a good price as a boy toy to some rich old geezer," the boss laughed, "Or to a brothel. They'll know how to tame him. Bring him away for now."
"Yes, boss," the other man said and dragged away the cage.
"Boss! There are three men at the door, saying they're here for business!" yelled a third man as he ran inside, "They came for a very valuable object."
"Tidy up everything here and then bring them in," the boss replied.
He watched as the newcomer cleared away anything that could be considered illegal before scurrying off and outside.
As Shen Qingqiu had to wait outside with the others, he stared at the building with a gloomy look on his face. The way this building was presented, the aura it gave off, he was way too familiar with it. If this wasn't the den of human traffickers then he didn't know what would be one.
"I somehow feel the urge to burn down this whole building," Shen Qingqiu mumbled and glared holes into the building's walls.
"I know," Yue Qingyuan answered, "Even though I'm not usually a violent person, I cannot help but feel the same. But you can't do that now. You are here for something and there are very likely innocent people locked up in there."
"What's in there?" Liu Qingge asked.
To him the house looked totally normal. A little wrecked and dirty, maybe somewhat shady, but all in all a standard looking building.
"Human traffickers," Yue Qingyuan and Shen Qingqiu said at the same time.
"Really?" Liu Qingge asked and looked again "How can you tell?"
"I don't know. I think we can just feel it," Yue Qingyuan replied, "We've spent long enough among them to know how their dens look like and how those people behave. There is no doubt."
They were interrupted by the same man who had received them before. The man waved them inside, a strangely suspicious expression in his face. They were lead into a cramped room. The room was dimly lit and the air smelled like rotting wood and mold. Clean spots on the dusty ground were clear indicators that there used to be things standing everywhere, which had been quickly brought away to hide them from their eyes before they came in.
Shen Qingqiu also saw a few fresh scratches on the wooden floor, as if something heavy had been dragged across the ground. Ordinary people might not have noticed, but Shen Qingqiu and Yue Qingyuan had immediately.
They looked up when they heard footsteps approaching them. A slightly overweight guy of about thirty stood before them. He had a long scar cutting through his otherwise handsome face. The scar no doubt originated from the strike of a whip. This man was rather muscular. His fake smile immediately tipped Shen Qingqiu off. He felt the urge to slap thiS smile right off that man's face.
