"M...my King, I swear I have not betrayed you! Please!" Shang Qingqhua dodged a punch, but this only seemed to make the demon angrier, "There were unlucky circumstances and they figured something!"

"Quit your lies, they use you nothing," Mobei-jun growled furiously, "I should have known that humans could not be trusted! They are only good for betraying one the moment they get the chance!"

Shang Qinghua narrowly avoided another blow. He had had a lot of practice in dodging from PE class back in highschool when they played dodgeball. He wasn't elegant at it, but at least nothing landed in his face no matter how much he seemed to be the single target of the bigger students. He wished to just talk, but this wasn't possible in this situation. Just why did Mobei-jun have to snap without giving him time to explain the full situation? Though he was a bit at fault. Maybe he should not have started with 'Zhangmen-shixiong knows that I come here'...

"My King, they came to my office inquiring about something and my tongue slipped!" Shang Qinghua cried, throwing himself at Mobei-jun's legs. He had found that clinging to them was the best method to stop the demon from trying to kick him and he could not really punch like this either, "My King knows that this subject is foolish and can't keep his mouth shut! He needs to forgive me!"

Mobei-jun tried hard to somehow hit the man still, but like this he could only deliver some weak hits to his back that didn't actually hurt.

"Th...they were not angry, My King," Shang Qinghua continued quickly, "They want to see you. Invite you to talk about an alliance!"

Mobei-jun laughed darkly, the laugh more sounding like he was coughing up icicles. "You really are foolish if you believe that," he spat back. He didn't get why he was feeling so incredibly bad. It was just that Shang Qinghua possibly betraying him had made him feel an emotion that made him extremely angry and he wanted to destroy something. Normally he would have just killed the person making him feel this way, but he felt like that wouldn't make it better. Instead he just set on beating him into a pulp to vent his anger.

"They are not the type of people to plan an ambush like this. Or at all," Shang Qinghua defended, "Zhangmen-shixiong isn't! They aren't against demons! There is even a demon in our sect and they said he would be receiving you on your visit!"

"Now I know you are lying!" Mobei-jun said loudly, "No human sect would harbor a demon knowingly without either trying to keep them detained or planning to kill them eventually."

"They do!" Shang Qinghua said, "He is even being taught as one of us! A disciple like any other, learning under Shen Qingqiu personally! And it's not just any demon." Shang Qinghua lowered his voice, trying to sound conspicuous, "It's Tianlang-jun's son."

Mobei-jun stilled his attempts to try to hurt Shang Qinghua, but he still looked skeptical. "Tianlang-jun had no son," he said, narrowing his eyes.

"He did, but the boy grew up amongst humans," Shang Qinghua replied, "No one noticed because his mother was human too. No one except for Zhangmen-shixiong and Shen-shixiong."

"Half human?!" Mobei-jun asked, looking like he couldn't believe what he'd heard. It wasn't clear if he was offended by the implication that great lord Tianlang-jun would have really conceived a child with a human or if he was taken aback by the fact that a human and a demon were even capable of having a child together.

"That doesn't take away from his strength. Just give him a few years and he will be able to rival his father in strength," Shang Qinghua said, hoping he could actually hook Mobei-jun, "Zhangmen-shixiong promised that Tianlang-jun's son would be receiving you if you were to deign yourself to a visit.
