[Three days ago]
It was a few hours after Yue Qingyuan and Shen Qingqiu had left for Shuang Hu City that Princess finally returned from her travels around the mountain. Now that she had a new territory she had deemed it appropriate to mark it as such and she had felt like spending some time outside anyway, so it had been a great opportunity. When she hopped in through the kitchen window, she already started sniffing around for food. Normally the two humans made food at this hour, but there was not the smallest trace of it in the air. Thinking nothing of it, Princess hopped into the bedroom to curl up under the blanket for a little while.
Another few hours later, she woke up again. Princess started stretching and got up. As she started grooming her fur, she noticed that it was dark already. Confusedly flicking her ear she looked around. There was not a trace of the humans around. No sound and no them. Shen jumped off the bed to look around the house, but she found no one. Thinking they were probably out hunting or something, she decided to go to the kitchen and eat something from her bowl. The bowl was freshly filled, making Princess question if the two humans had prepared her this before leaving. She started eating, not caring too much anymore when her stomach started growling.
The next day there was still no trace of the humans. Princess began to become a bit uneasy. She started pacing around the house over and over meowing loudly as she did so. Normally they were always home. At least one of them. Either in the food room, the sleep room or the paper room, but they were never away for so long. Princess began to wonder if it had been because she had been gone so long herself that they had started searching for her. Or was it that she had failed to take care of them that they ran away? Was it because she had refused to hunt for the green one that one time? She let out a pitiful meow thinking of that.
Suddenly she heard the noise of a door opening. Her ears immediately perked up and she ran to the entrance hall in anticipation, just to see a small human enter with a bowl. Seeing a foreign person enter the two human's and her room, she started hissing in hostility.
The disciple who had come to feed Princess stopped in his tracks. "Sorry little one, didn't mean to startle you," he apologized, "I am just bringing food."
Hearing the word food, Princess still looked weary, but she stopped hissing. When the small human placed the bowl on the ground, she began sniffing it first. It smelled exactly like the bowl she had eaten from the day prior. So it had been this small human bringing her food and not the two ones? Her ears drooped a little and she pushed away the bowl unhappily.
"You miss Shizun and Shishu, huh?" the disciple asked, kneeling down to pet Princess' head.
Princess startled a little when she was suddenly touched and once more she hissed at the boy, clawing at his fingers. The disciple yelped and got up again. He didn't blame the cat for having scratched him. He thought it normal for an animal not to like new people right away. Probably she would get used to him if he brought her food a couple more times.
When the small human left, Princess rolled up beside the bowl, looking unhappily at it. Although she was a little hungry, she really didn't feel like eating. She wanted to know where the humans were. Did they have food if she didn't hunt for them? Or were they only eating plants again? They needed meat too, they couldn't just live off of plants!
If they ran away because she didn't catch them any food then she had to bring home some to prove she could provide. Thinking this, Princess determinedly got up. She went straight for the kitchen window to go hunt and she was set on catching the biggest prey she had ever caught this time.
When she got back, Princess had huge problems getting the animal back inside, but she was motivated enough to try. In the end she still had to wait outside Qiong Ding Hall for a disciple to open the door for her and the overly large bird she had caught. The moment Princess had dragged her catch inside, she immediately sniffed around the house again to see if the humans had not returned in the meantime, but still there was no trace.
