"Back to the old house," was blasted in Darian's speakers, with the walls practically vibrating with its intensity.
Nancy approached his door and she knocked loudly, "Darian! Open the door!" She yells
....
Darian looks up from his desk, his eyes lidded and sunken in. Redness rimmed his irises, with the black bags under his eyes standing out on his pale skin. Darian releases the tourniquet from his teeth and he removes the needle from his arm, quickly capping it and stashing it in his desk.
"Darian! Come on! We're supposed to be helping the Byers today!" Nancy yells
"Fuck." Darian whispers, reaching over and turning off his boombox. "I'll be out in a minute!" Darian yells back. He waits to hear his sister's footsteps recede before rushing towards his bathroom. Quickly he cleans the dry blood from his arm and splashes cold water on his face.
Darian sighs as he leans against the counter of his sink. "Come on Darian." Darian whispers to himself.
With a sigh, he straightens up and pulls down his sleeves to cover his bandaged arm.
It's been a few days since Billy's death and the reality of it hit him like a train. He knew drugs weren't the answer, but they were easier.
When Darian looked up, his reflection was already staring at him, grey eyes whitening.
"You're a coward, Darian, always choosing the easiest route. They know, all of them. But they don't care. They are laughing at you, mocking you behind their back. Poor Darian. Poor broken little Darian Wheeler."
Darian shuts his eyes, trying to shake the voice away. His breathing turns shallow, as he slowly looks back up. Darian's eyes widen in fear.
"It's time."
In the distance a bell chimes.
