Today's the day that Val would be meeting my family. I can tell that she's still super nervous. She's been very short when texting me. We both were up early for practice so we were texting all day. Val was trying to figure out what to wear when meeting them because to work she normally wears leggings and a michigan shirt or hoodie. I tried to reassure her that wearing leggings to meet my mom, dad, and sisters is totally okay for her, but I also understand she wants to dress up a little bit to impress them. The day went quickly and before I knew it we were heading to my house.

During our drive Val kept playing with my bracelets on my wrist and shaking her legs up and down. I put my hand on her thigh and rubbed it up and down to try and keep her nerves calm. "Princess, why don't you call Rutger and the boys and talk to them, maybe it'll help you with your nerves." Even though we were getting closer to my house I knew that if she called and talked to them that she'd be less anxious when we actually arrived. She did a group facetime call with them.

Val: boys i'm so nervous

Rut: don't be nervous little sis. I'm sure they'll love you

Luke: who wouldn't love you. Everyone you meet loves you

Ethan: take us for example. The first time we've actually talked to you we became good friends

Val: if they don't like me i'm worried that JJ will break up with me

Luke: listen V you're overthinking and going to worst case scenario. Go and have fun, be yourself and everything will work out I promise

Luca: i agree with what everyone else has been saying. If you need anything you can call one of us

Val: okay thank you boys. We arrived at his house and they're all waiting to greet me

Rut: you got this little sis. i love you and remember to breathe and just be yourself

Val: i will thank you Rut

Rut: of course. remember to text us if you need anything

Once they hung up Val was calmer and ready to go. We walked to the front door where everyone was waiting to greet us. As soon as we reached them mom, caitlin and morgan all gave Val a hug, introduced themselves and started to ask her questions. Finally they let go and let my dad greet her. Val was still nervous, but was hiding the fact she was from them. We all walked in and sat around the living room. Val sat next to me with her legs over mine and her head on my shoulder. "So Val tell us all about how my little brother is treating you. Is he treating you well cause if not I'll slap some sense into him and make sure he does." I chuckled at the great vote of confidence that my sister has for me. "Yes, he's treating me well. He has always treated me well since the first day I met him." They nodded happy that I'm treating her that well.

Mom then spoke "Val how did he ask you to be his girlfriend?" "Well I guess we always acted like a couple since the beginning. He bought me coffee and my favorite foods and spends a lot of his time with me. I didn't want to take all of his time so I made him promise me that he would spend part of the weekend with you and his friends. He agreed as long as I agreed to go out on a date with him. That date he set up a picnic and watching the sunset. We drove up to a higher vantage point and there we sat on his truck bed with blankets, pillows, food, candy, and his laptop so we could eat and watch some movies. When the sunset started we put the laptop away and enjoyed the view. While watching the sunset he looked at me and asked me to be his girlfriend. Finally, we cleaned up and went back to his apartment."
