PROLOGUE 3

"And we're finished. Thats the tour. I know its a lot to absorb so please do not hesitate to ask any questions."

"I will, thank you so much for your help..."

Winner suddenly ran up to us.

"Nurse Tul. We've got a call from Internal Medicine. They need you for an emergency operation!"

"Are there any doctors available?"

"Thats the problem. There's nobody...."

"That is a problem," Tul said regretfully.

Lisa came over. "We did receive the patient's medical records."

"Can I take a look?"

I briefly looked over the charts.

I've never performed this operation before....

But I should be able to follow the procedure and complete it without a hitch.

"What do you think?"Tul asked me.

"I'll do it."

"You've just arrived. Are you sure you'll be alright?"

"I cant say I'm not nervous but.....as a doctor, I will do my best."

"I understand Dr Jeff. I'll make the preperations."

My grip on the medical chart tightens.

I will show them. I'm going to save this patient.

The operation went on smoothly... I did it...All I have to do now is to stitch back the patient.

Beep...beep...beep....

"What?"

"Blood pressure is decreasing! The patient is hemorrhaging!" my assistant informed.

How could this be? I stopped the bleeding and there were no complications....

"Vitals are low!"

Stay calm....Stay calm and look for it. The site of the bleeding has to be somewhere...

"You...step aside."

"What?"

"I'll take it from here," the tall masked guy said.

"Dr Alan?" the assistant calls out in relief.

Dr Alan? Alan Hemmawich?

"How can a surgeon perform if she's upset?" he said to me.

I stepped aside and muttered sorry to him.

He took over.

"Operations are never exactly like the textbook."

"A hematoma seems to have burst. You didnt do anything wrong."

"Okay."

He's amazing.... He works so smoothly and naturally.

My eyes are fixed on his technique and his serious expression.

This man is the Director's son.

Outside the operating theatre,

"I cant thank you enough.."

Alan took of his mask. He is a really handsome... Tall and well built....

I almost couldnt take my eyes of him.

"You really saved me back there."

Beneath his kind face, he seems to be cold.

"I didnt save you. I saved the patient."

He is really cold but he is a good doctor.

If he'd been the one operating my mother instead of his father.... Maybe I could see her smiling face even now. Alive, by my side....

I watch as Alan walks away and bite my lip.

"Are you Jeff, the new doctor?"

I suddenly realized that a man in a white coat was standing right behind me.

"I am Benz Kim from Internal Medicine. Thank you for operation." performing the

"If you're here to offer thanks, you should be talking to Dr Alan instead."

"Oh, did our Super Doctor made an appearance? Were you charmed by his talents?"

"I supposed you could say that," I admitted.

Benz grinned. "If only he's friendly. He'd be so perfect!"

"Drop by Internal Medicine if you ever need someone to lean on. Come anytime."

Benz waves goodbye, then leaves with a smile on his face.
