Horikita Suzune's Point Of View
Looking over the now empty room belonging to Ayanokoji, I began reminiscing about that first week.
I hate to admit it... but they are probably the closest people I could call as friends... especially after everything we had to go through together...
Right here, 3 weeks ago, we huddled together in a haze after the first day. Lost and confused, we could do nothing but grief in our misery, thoughts of doubt plaguing all our minds while Ayanokoji left us to our own devices with a tied backstabber.
I shook my head, forgetting memories of my previous classmates to not get my mood down.
It's still hard to move on...
Right after the helicopter arrived, we were quickly promoted to high-ranking guests in the compound by the chairman himself, who was overjoyed to see at least some of his students still alive and kicking
At first, it was hard for us to readjust to our old life without death at every corner, sleeping with one eye open. But at least we were able to get some good sleep for once.
We spent 4 days doing absolutely nothing every single day. Wake up, eat breakfast, take a shower, lay around for the rest of the day, either watching movies or playing games, and then go back to sleep. After everything went down, all that awaited us was depression.
The only reason we didn't continue to rot in this room was because Ichinose's insisting that we go check out how the cleaning team have finished their jobs with most of the facilities.
I doubt those were her real motives, tho...
You see, after Ayanokoji returned to us when the helicopter arrived, he vaguely explained to us a few things before leaving. Ever since that day, he hasn't returned back to his room at all. The main reason we all stayed in his room for the week instead of going back to ours was to wait for him, but he never returned. Even Kiryuin came around sometimes to check in on us.
Sakayanagi disappeared too... but we knew why... and she still kept in contact with us by calling us time to time...
One of his excuses for leaving had something to do with 'cleaning', which didn't make sense at the time until we decided to check out the 'cleaning' ourselves.
This was most probably why Ichinose pushed us to leave... she was trying to look for him...
And as if connected by fate, we found him in the first place we decided to visit. Keyaki Mall. Walking into the now barron area, we instantly noticed how clean the place was from the last time we saw it.
----------
Flashback to one week ago.
"This place has kind of lost its charm now." Ryuuen commented.
Not even surprised splattered blood and guts count as some kind of 'charm' to Ryuuen...
"It looks like a recently abandoned mall now... kind of eerie, isn't it?" Hashimoto commented.
"Check out the stores, tho. Almost every one of them has been emptied." Kushida pointed out.
While we walked around the empty and quiet mall, we noticed most of the stores completely emptied out. The only ones that remained unchanged, except for some cleaning, were all types of convienece stores.
"They must be planning to repurpose most of the now hollow stores." Nii-san was right.
"Aw... I was planning to come here to pick up a few new cute outfits." Ichinose expressed her disappointment.
