2: Mission of Importance

Hawks pov:

I turn around and jump back with a scream. Only to fall off the bed and land on my ass. It took a moment to realize it was enji. He had come home early.

Enji:"Are you alright? I didn't mean to scare you."

Haw:"Why are you home so soon?"

Enji:"I came home to snuggle during my lunch break."

I stand up and sit on the bed. He then wraps around me.

Enji:"Sorry for the scare."

Haw:"It's alright. I'm just on edge. After you left. I found this under the door."

I hand over the drawing, and he takes it out of my hand.

Enji:"I'll ask for more patrols to come by. Oh, your boss called me. She's asking for you to come by tonight. She said Ira urgent."

I pout and nuzzle my face into his pecks.

Haw:"I don't wanna."

Enji:"Want me to tell her that you're overworked?"

Haw:"Nah, I'll come over tonight. Once I've rested a bit longer."

I look up to see his soft smile. Before his hand ruffles my hair.

Enji:"Good birdy. Now I'm going back to work. So lock up the place when I go."

I nod and he tilts my head up for a kiss. Once our lips break contact. He stands up to leave.

Once alone again. I check every window and door. After that, I make breakfast and eat. Then it's off to the home gym. Weight lifting, rope tossing, and cardio before a relaxing shower. By this point. I turn on my phone. Only to get a call right away.

Haw:"Damnit..... Ayo! What's up boss?"

"You're needed right away. Come to my office now. I know you aren't sick."

I sigh and agree to come by before hanging up on her.

Haw:"heroes don't get vacations."

I get dressed and head over. Once on her balcony. I enter to find her alone.

Boss:"I need you to go under cover in the league of villians. With your skills. I have no doubt that we'll gain information about their plans."

Haw:"When and where do you want me?"

Boss:"Tonight at the old mill in the west side district. There, yes will meet twice for first contact. Befriend him and we'll have a way in."

I bow to her in agreement.

^Sorry enji. Looks like another night has taken me away.^

3rd person pov:

That night, enji comes home to find Hawks getting ready to leave.

Enji:"Work again?"

Haw:"She's asked me to go under cover in the league of villians. So I'm meeting my first contact. I should be home in a few hours."

Enji:"This isn't right."

Haw:"We're heroes. Saving lives comes before our own."

Hawks lifts up to kiss enji.

Haw:"I'll be careful."

Enji puts on a smile, but a sarrow shows in his eyes.

Hawks heads out and meets up with twice and holds two coffees in hand.

Haw:"Pick one and I'll have the other."

Twice:"No thanks. Coffee is disgusting. Cool man! You're the best! Is this poisoned?"

As Hawks tries to open a can. Twice takes it and drinks it.

Haw:"I'd like to join. My bosses have me over worked, and it feels like my job doesn't matter. Like everytime I try to make the world a better place."

Hawks looks down. So twice finishes.

Twic:"evil finds a way to spread? Tell me something. What is the perfect world.?"

Haw:"One in which heroes aren't needed. Where no one gets hurt. I just want everyone to live without fear."

Twice puts his hand out.

Twic:"Welcome to the lov. Tomorrow you'll get a call from dabi. Who will mentor you into our ranks."

Haw:"Understood."

Twice teloports away by a liquid coming from his mouth into a portal. Leaving behind a burner phone. After taking the phone. He feels a gaze coming from behind him. Sending a chill down his back. So he flys up and texts enji that he's heading home. When he gets there. The table is set with steak, salad, baked potatoes, wine, and lit candles.

Haw:"Aww babe~."

Enji kisses hawks.

Enji:"Happy one year anniversary."

Haw:"Are you about to do what I think?"

Enji:"That depends on your answer."

Hawks blushes bright red. So enji leads him to the table and serves his food first. After that. They enjoy a nice dinner together. Only to end the night in cuddles. Both embrace and enjoy the calm as they drift off to sleep.

By morning, Hawks gets a call on the burner phone.

Haw:"Mmmh. Too early... mhello?"

Dabi:"Today at nine am. Bring files about patrol routes to the mill and drop them off. I'll retrieve them after you leave.

Hawks pov:

Haw:"On it."

Dabi hangs up. So I get ready and head out. After downloading the files on a thumb drive. I head out to the drop-off point.  Once I land. I feel as if someone is watching. So I put the information in a paper bag and toss it into the shadows of the building.

Only for it to be thrown back. So I pick it up and head inside. As I walk in. I hear that deep voice echo.

Dabi:"Leave it on the lit table."

I head in deeper and see a flashlight on a table to light it up. After dropping it off. I start to walk out. That's when I feel someone shove me on my back and into a portal. When I open my eyes. I found myself infront of my hero agency. So I head inside for the morning rutien. I then look through fan mail. Only to see a drawing of the same bird, but this time it seems different. Yet I can't make it out. So I put it away to focus on paperwork.
