"You... Y-you mean before Brightstar?" Silverpaw stammered. Duskstar nodded at her. Silverpaw was speechless. She was speaking to one of her ancestors-- her Clan's former leader. "I must show you something."  mewed Duskstar. The sleek she-cat got to her paws and beckoned Silverpaw with her star-lit tail. Silverpaw padded towards her. She fell besides the former Clan leader and looked up at her.  "What are we going to do?" Silverpaw asked.
"Don't worry. Just watch." Duskstar instructed gently.

Silverpaw nodded slowly. Why not just tell her where they were going? She looked around StarClan's territory. It was beautiful, with its starry rivers and skies. Even the trees held sparks of light. Silverpaw could see the misty outlines of other Star Clan cats. They were all so happy here in this celestial haven. Star Clan really was a place of happiness, where no suffering or pain could ever reach. She saw two kits playing by a small stream as well and she felt a hint of sadness. It was so bitter-sweet to see them here. They were so young when they joined Star Clan. But here they would never feel pain and suffering ever again. Silverpaw was reminded of the day Stormpaw had passed, and how she had thought of how terrible that he died so young. It was terrible, but here he would live in peace, watching over Wind Clan and his littermates.

"Silverpaw."

She turned her head to Duskstar. "Sorry I was thin-" she froze. Besides Duskstar, sat a smaller gray tom with yellow eyes.  He had a cheerful expression on his face as he padded towards her. "Nice to see you Silverpaw. "

It was Stormpaw, and he looked as lively here as he had been when he was alive. Silverpaw ran up to her friend and pressed her cheek to his. "Have you been doing alright? I'm so sorry abot everything, Stormpaw..." she mewed. The gray apprentice pulled away and nodded. "Everything is forgiven and forgotten. I'm watching over you and our Clan." Before Silverpaw could say anything, Stormpaw had turned to Duskstar and dipped his head. "Thank you for letting me say goodbye properly." Duskstar nodded at him and waved her tail to dismiss him. Silverpaw watched as Stormpaw bounded away and disappeared into the starry territory.

Suddenly, she was snapped out of her emotion but a  bright light that flashed before her eyes, and she and Duskstar were transported to a battle. "What are we doing here!?" Silverpaw yelled. Duskstar turned to Silverpaw and said, "Look around."

Silverpaw looked around. She suddenly realized what battle this was. "This is the battle with ShadowClan." she whispered. A heartbeat later, the face of Russetstar appeared, snarling at her, blood dripping from his muzzle. Then came another flash of light. She opened her eyes slowly. Silverpaw looked around. She was surrounded by snow. The wind was wailing and whipping in all directions and as a result squeezed her eyes shut as snow flew at her. She struggled a step forward and squinted her eyes open. She glanced around. "I... I know this place." Silverpaw mewed. She looked to the side, and saw a massive stone jutting out of the ground. It was Outlook Rock.

"Look over there." Duskstar meowed, unfazed by the wind. Silverpaw looked at where Duskstar had flicked her star dotted tail. She saw a tabby she-cat struggling through the snow. She was nudging two kits to the base of Outlook Rock. "Who is that?" Silverpaw asked. "Go closer. She can't see us." Duskstar said. Silverpaw padded over to the she-cat who was now curled around her kits. Silverpaw looked at the she-cat, who didn't even notice her there. She was trembling against the cold. Silverpaw leaned closer to look at the two tiny kits she was curled around. One was a dark ginger tom, and the other was a pale tabby and white she-cat. The truth suddenly hit Moonpaw like an attacking badger's paw. "Is that... my mother!" she whispered.

The image flashed away and she and Duskstar were back in the forest, where they had meet. Duskstar was beginning to fade, and so was the dream. "The silver will light the way, through the darkest hours." she meowed. "StarClan is watching over you Silverpaw." Duskstar added.
Silverpaw opened her eyes and leapt away from Moonstone. The  silver will light the way through the darkest hours, Duskstar's words rang in Silverpaw's ears.

Silverpaw felt something touch her shoulder. She turned and saw Rosecloud sitting behind her. "Are you alright?" she asked softly. "I'm fine, just a bit... surprised." Silverpaw answered.
Rosecloud nodded and said, "I was surprised my first time here too." Silverpaw looked around. She was the third apprentice to wake up. Runningpaw was besides Sunpaw whispering. Sunpaw looked more relaxed by now. Smokefur and Mistpelt were taking naps, and Cloudfoot was grooming his fluffy brown pelt. Soon, Foxpaw opened his eyes and padded over to them not saying a word. His eyes had a glint of awe in them, but also something else that Silverpaw couldn't pinpoint. "Wow." Silverpaw heard him whisper.

"Alright, let's head back to camp." Silverpaw watched as he prodded Mistpelt with his paw. The light gray she-cat let out a small yawn and got to her paws. They all began going through the tunnel they had come through. Silverpaw shuddered as she heard the erie wind blowing through the cracks in the walls.
This time, crossing the Thunderpath was easier. There were less monsters now that, it was this late. Silverpaw raced to the other side. I don't want to see another monster as long as I live, Silverpaw thought. It was quiet as the group headed back to camp. Silverpaw knew that everyone was lost in their own thoughts. She felt something tap her flank and she turned her head. Runningpaw was walking besides her. He leaned and and whispered, "How was your dream?"

"It was... Unique." Silverpaw answered. She would tell him about Stormpaw later, but right now she didnt want to discuss her dream. "I can't wait to get back to regular training again tomorrow." Runningpaw meowed. Silverpaw was actually looking forward to it as well. "Yeah, I think Rosecloud is going to give me my assessment on Outlook Rock." Silverpaw said excitedly. WindClan cats, unlike other clans, were assessed on how well their eyesight was. They stood on top of the rock and looked over the moor to see if there were intruders.

She and Runningpaw continued to converse, but by the time they were nearing camp, Silverpaw felt as if her paws were made of stone each time she lifted them. The group was already walking through the camp entrance. It was already past moon high and most of the cats were already in their dens sleeping. Even Foxpaw, had stopped talking as fast as a blue jay flying. "I'm going to sleep." Sunpaw moaned drowsily. Silverpaw watched as the white and ginger she-cat, meowed bye to Cloudfoot and padded away. "You can go rest too." Mistpelt meowed to Foxpaw, Runningpaw, and Moonpaw.

"Okay." Foxpaw mewed. Runningpaw bounded after him. "Bye Rosecloud." said Moonpaw. Rosecloud nodded and walked towards the fresh-kill pile, and sat next to Smokefur. Moonpaw padded to her den, with a mind full of what she had experienced.

The silver will light the way through the darkest hours.
