DAY THREE OF THIRTY ONE

DECEMBER 14, 2014.

THREE DAYS BEFORE WINTER BREAK.

3:40 P.M.

ARABELLA'S P.O.V.

"What are we up to today Arabella?" Nick turns his phone towards me.

"We are setting up Christmas trees!" I do a weird hop thing, causing Nick to laugh. He ends the vlog, stuffing his phone into his jean pocket.

"So, we need to go pick a tree." Nick says as we get in the car.

"What about this one?" I point to the tree next to him, causing him to turn around towards me. Once again, our faces were closer then expected. But this time,we were closer then we've ever been and his breath was fanning against my face.

"Oh uh, sorry. Anyway, what tree?" He looks at my chin and turns around, following my finger to the tree.

"This one?" He touches the tree, inspecting it.

"Yeah." he smiles and nods, telling the guy he's got a tree.

"You look cold, go wait in the truck. I'll be back soon."

Soon after I got in the truck, I heard screaming and saw Nick running towards the truck.

"Oh my god what happened, why were you running?" I ask as we sped away from the place, a very angry guy flipping us off.

"I may or may not have stole the tree." he shrugs, laughing and turning on the Christmas song radio station.

"You actually stole a Christmas tree?" I ask, looking at the boy.

"I forgot my wallet." he shrugs.

"I could have paid!"

"You shouldn't have to pay for my tree." Nick sighs and turns the radio up.

5:23
"Done!" Nick cheers as he looks at the tree.

"Not yet, we still need the star." I point to the top of the tree, holding the star in the other hand.

"Well you can't reach that by yourself." Nick says, looking at the difference.

"Do you want me to pick you up?" He asks, making me nod.

"Okay, get on my shoulders." I climb onto his broad shoulders, lightly running my fingers through his hair. I hear a small groan escape from his lips, ignoring it once I realize it was from me tugging on his hair.

"Little to the right." he shuffles over slightly, bending down a little so I don't hit my head.

"Alright, it's on! Now what?" I ask as I run my hands through his hair again, waiting for him to set me down.

"We can watch Christmas movies, or make a gingerbread house?" He bites his lip again as he sets me down.

"The second one seems nice." he nods and goes to which I imagine is the kitchen. He pokes his head from the doorframe and moves his head, signaling me to go in with him.

6:31
After being almost done with building our house, Nick stops and looks at my nose.

"What?"

"You've got a little something." he points to my nose, smearing icing all over my face.

"You know, you got a little something, right about- here." I pause and put some all over his nose, sticking a red gumdrop onto it. He smiles and cocks his head to the side, grabbing some sprinkles.

"Don't you dare." I get up and try to run away, but Nick beat me to it and grabs onto my waist.

"No no. You're not getting away with it." he turns me around.

"What are you going to do, Rudolph?" I tease, swiping icing off his chin and eating it. He watches as I do it, his grip getting tighter on the sprinkles.

"I don't know, try me, snowstorm." he throws white sprinkles at my face, laughing so hard crinkles formed by his eyes.

Aw, that's so cute.

"Was that you're way of saying you want to get lost in me?" I raise my eyebrows, the sound of the front door opening scaring me.

"Aw look at how cute you look." the girl, who I assume is his mom says. Nick quickly backs up from me, his face turning the color of Rudolph's nose.

"Oh! Mom, hi!"

"Hey Nick, who's this lovely looking lady?" She sets her bags down, looking over at me.

"Hello mrs.Robinson, I'm Arabella, it's lovely to meet you." I stick my hand out, shaking her hand.

"Why hello Arabella, it's nice to meet the girl my boy talks about constantly."

"Mom." Nick whines, slouching into his chair.

"What? It's true!" She shrugs her coat off, smiling. I look at Nick, who, surprisingly, was even redder then before.

"Hey, um we need to do the vlog." Nick changes the subject, taking the gumdrop off his nose. I nod and walk towards him, sitting in the seat next to him.

"You have to keep the gumdrop on." I push the gumdrop back on his nose.

"Okay, um, well, it's 6:31." he shows the date and time, continuing on.

"We have made a gingerbread house!" He shows our little house, ending it and sighing.

"Are you staying for dinner tonight dear?" His mom turns to me after turning on the stove.

"If you're okay with it, then sure!"

"Well I can't just let my sons first crush get away that easily." she jokes, Nick groaning again.

"Mom, I swear to-"

"Don't be rude, Rudolph." I glance at him, seeing him smile.

"Sorry, snow."

👫

6:50

The fire alarm starts going off, causing me to squeal slightly. Nick starts laughing at me once more, his mom coming out of the kitchen.

"So, I forgot I can't cook, So we have to get food delivered."

"We can go pick some food up?" I suggest, looking over to Nick.

"Can you? I need to clean up the mess in there." she puts her hands over her heart.

"Yeah, what do you want?"

"I'm not hungry, you guys can just go." She hands Nick her credit card, winking at him and whispering something.

"Be back by midnight!"

Nick rolls his eyes as he puts on his coat.

"Let's go."
