Maxie looked through the magazines and books for floral ideas and thought about her own bridal bouquet.
She decided to have deep red roses and one single blue painted rose in the center.
Sam suggested after lunch they shop for dresses to find Maxie's gown and the bridesmaids dresses.
A few minutes later they paid for lunch and left with the kids to go search for dresses.
Liz pointed out a nice one but Maxie commented "It's not the right blue. It's nice though."
Sam pointed one out but again Maxie didn't think it was quite right.
Lulu found one and said "Is this not perfect?"
Maxie eyed the gown and tried it on.
The skirt flowed like a river while the single beaded strap shimmered on her left shoulder.
The blue brought out her eyes and the sales lady commented "Oh my god you look gorgeous. Your fiancée will drop his jaw when he sees you on your wedding day."
Maxie "I love it. It's perfect."
Until she sees the price tag and chimes in "I don't have $35,000."
Sales lady "How about I make you a deal."
Maxie "What kind of deal?"
Sales lady "You put on a charity fashion show later this year with your friends here and I will give you the dress for $1500."
Sam "Wow Maxie I'd take that deal."
Maxie "I will do it. I miss the fashion world. I used to work for crimson."
Sales lady "I knew I recognized you."
Maxie "You read Crimson?"
Sales lady "Every issue."
Maxie "Well I will get back to you on details and I will set up that fashion show."
Sales lady "Thank you. You just got yourself a perfect dress."
After paying for the gown they searched for bridesmaids dresses and that was a little easier.
Maxie pointed out ones she loved that accented hers perfectly.
For lulu it was a spaghetti strap version of a mostly royal blue above the knee gown with a silvery gem studded waist.
For Sam it was a strapless yet similar style to lulu's.
For Liz it was a single strap variation.
Then they scoured the store for shoes and only found one pair in the right size.
Maxie didn't like them enough so she asked if they could order more.
Sales lady "Yes. What pair did you like?"
Maxie "The ones that have a 5 inch heel and diamond studded peep toe."
Sales lady "That will be about a three week wait."
Maxie "I have until New Years Eve."
Sales lady "That should plenty of time. What sizes? Are you all going to have the same shoes?"
Sam Liz and Lulu said "Yes."
Maxie "Do I pay for those now or when they come in?"
Sales lady "When they arrive."
Maxie "Alright thank you."
The sales lady rang up the bridesmaids dresses and each lady paid for her own.
Sam "Wait what about a veil and jewelry?"
Maxie "Oh yeah. I need that too. I can't get married without a veil."
Sales lady "I have a perfect tiara veil that will look amazing with your gown."
She showed it to her.
It had diamond like stones on it as well as thin royal blue trim and little patterns that looked like a waterfall.
Lulu "That is perfect. You will be the talk of the town."
Sam "I definitely think you will have all of us beat."
After paying for the gown the veil and some jewelry she went home and hid it in her closet.
The door swung open and Nathan snuck up behind her wrapping his arms around her waist "So did you have a productive day?"
Maxie "Yes. I found my dress my veil some jewelry I ordered my shoes decided on my bouquet and got the bridesmaids dresses."
Nathan "We still have the tuxes the cake the music the venue and so much more to decide on."
Maxie "Oh by the way I got a great deal on my dress. It was $35k but the lady told me if I did a charity fashion show she'd give it to me for only $1500."
Nathan "What? You got a dress that's $35,000?"
Maxie "For only $1500. I'm going to put on a charity fashion show for women who need help getting out of abusive relationships."
Nathan "$35,000? I make a little over that in a year."
