Newt paced; walking back and forth the room. Thomas, Teresa, Jeff, Clint , Newt, and I gathered in Med-Jack.

The room they kept Alby in. The leader laid on a bed in the center, breathing heavily and shaking non stop. His chest was bare and I could see his veins popish out.

"What's so important that you ran all the way over here, Lilah?" Newt stopped pacing and stood in front of me. "You bloody scared me."

I sent him an apologetic expression. "I know. I'm sorry." I quickly replied. "But it's about Alby."

"What about him?"

"I think I have an antidote for a Griever sting." I grabbed the three 'antidotes' from Teresa and instantly showed Newt. "The same letters found in the maze are carved in it-"

"It was in Teresa's pocket when she arrived." Thomas said, walking over to us. "Give it to him- Test it out on Alby."

"We don't even know what this stuff is. We don't know who sent it. Or why it came up here with her." Newt took deep breath. "For all we know, this thing can kill him."

"And if it doesn't? What if it works, Newt." I stared at Albys body. He was struggling to stay alive. "How much longer do we have before he can't handle it?" My voice grew loud and firm.

"He's already dying-Look at him. How could this possibly make it any worse?" Lowering his voice, Thomas spoke calmer. "Come on, it's worth a try."

Newt looked at Alby, tensing his jaw. When he looked back at us his facial expression changed. Newt wore a look of determination. "All right. Do it."

I handed Thomas one of the things, he nervously let out a shaky breath. "Okay."  I placed others on a near by table.

Thomas jogged over to the side of the wooden bed, placing the object above Albys chest, but not touching his skin.

I stood on the other side of the bed. Watching intently. If this doesn't work- No. This has to work. I know it will.

Thomas moved his hand closer and suddenly Alby broke out of his trance and grabbed Thomas shirt. "You shouldn't be here!" The leader aggressively tugged on Thomas, repeating the same sentence

We all jumped up, rushing over to help Thomas. Alby frantically swinged his arms and kicked his legs. Then he screamed at Thomas.

"Get the syringe!" The brunette desperately yelled.

Holding one of Albys legs down I looked over my shoulder, to see Teresa frozen in her spot.
"Teresa!" I shouted. "The syringe!"

Coming to her senses she picked up an antidote and stabbed in to Albys chest. His arms fell and he caught his breath.

Thomas was finally freed from Albys grasp.

Everyone tried to process what had just occurred, I for one steadied my breathing by inhaling and exhaling.

"Well, that worked." Jeff broke the silence.

"Okay. For now on someone stays here and watches him around the clock."

I turned to Teresa who was still in shock.
"Are you okay? I'm sorry for yelling at you."

"It's okay-I'm okay." She said in the most unreassuring way possible.

"It's getting late."

I looked at Thomas, knowing exactly what he was
implying. It's almost time for the pit.

"I'll head out first."

Thomas left and so did Teresa. A minute later the two other boys in the room left as well.

Newt was standing at the feet of the bed. Blankly staring at his friend. Alby was sound asleep; no longer shaking or gasping for oxygen in his lungs.

Newts back faced me and I quietly walked over to him. With a gentle touch, I wrapped my arms around the blondes torso from behind and rested
my chin on his shoulder.

"Alby is going to get better." I whispered.

He let out a tried sigh. "I hope so." My arms
dropped when Newt twisted his body to come face to face with me. He then proceeded to slither his arms around my waist, holding me. "You have to leave don't you? Why is it that every time I get a bloody moment to be with you- You have to leave?"

Not matter how much Newts words made me sad, I forced a smile onto my face. "What can I say? I'm a very lucky person."

He bitterly laughed. "Lucky my-"

"Newt." I scolded.

"Sorry." He apologized and tried to hold back his laughter. But failed miserably.

I rolled my eyes. "Haha. So funny."

When the childish boy finally stopped laughing he smile turned wider than before.

"What?"

"You're cute when you're serious."

My cheeks flushed.

Newts eyes fell to my cheeks. "Did I make you blush?" He asked.

In an instant I looked away, blushing even more out of embarrassment.

"You are! Let me see-Look at me, Lilah." His hand gently grabbed my chin and turned my head to face him.

Awkwardly, my eyes met his."You're annoying. You know that right." I felt embarrassed so my way to cope was acting tough.

"And you are beautiful. I guess humans can be a lot of things."

I tensed. Not out of fear but because this was the first time I heard Newt call me beautiful. His words knew how to force their way into my heart, Engraving never ending memory's of affection.

"What? Cat got your tongue, Lilah?"
