A woman dressed in a white jacket above her dark blue blouse, sat opposite of me. She carefully glanced at her clip board, her eyes traced every inch of the white pice of paper. She swiftly dragged her blue eyes away. "Hello, I'm Dr.Moore, I'll be asking a few questions, try your best to answer them. Ok?" The Dr forced a rehearsed smile and the wrinkles on her forehead became more noticeable

"O-Ok." I stuttered, my teeth grinned abasing each other, nervously. I peeled my cuticles, trying to distract myself from all the thoughts. They bleed but I couldn't stop. I wanted to feel something. I wanted to feel anything.

"Do you know how old you are?" The Dr asked, not sparing her board full of questions a single glance.

"Nine."

"You're leaving? But you just got here, who's going to play with me now? You promised we would
do something fun." A young boy with light brown hair and freckles a long his nose and cheeks, whined.

"I know, I know. But they need me. I'll be back before you know it." I gently creased the younger boys cheek, he smiled faintly.

"They always need you." He spat, with a bitter tone.

"I'm doing something important. Something that will save so many lives- More than you could count. I need you to be patient. Ok? Once this is all over we can play as much as you want."

~

"What am I going to do?" My voice cracked.

A figure in the distance couldn't be seen. They were blurry, but I could hear objects being picked up.

Hot tears slid down my cheeks, falling on to the white jacket I wore. "I can't-I won't loose him."

"We will keep on trying." A girl my age said.

"How much longer? How much longer would we
still have to do this? There isn't a cure and all we are doing is hurting those people-" A boy interrupted the girl.
