The officer dropped them off to the car impound and they stood by the front to wait for it to be brought round to them. Phil, Marley and Alan all sat down as Stu paced in front of them, complaining about what the police officers had done to them.

"Fuck those guys! You hear me? That was bullshit. I'm telling everybody we stole a cop car."

"They let us go, who cares?" Phil muttered back to him.

"I care!" Stu scoffed, "You can't just do that! You can't just tase people and think it's funny. That's police brutality!"

"Stu, relax." Marley tried to reason with him, "The point is, we got out and we can just go back to looking for Doug."

Stu raised his arms and took a deep breath, "I'm getting a soda. You guys want anything?"

"I'd love a Diet Coke, thanks." Marley forced a smile to him.

"I'm good." Phil waved him off. Stu made his way over to the vending machine at the side of the building. Phil waited until he was gone until turning to Marley, "My man doesn't shut up. Jesus Christ."

Marley rested her head on his shoulder, "Give him a break. It's been a long ass day."

Phil wrapped an arm around her and looked over to Alan who was staring off into the distance, "Alan, you okay?"

"I'm just worried." Alan responded, "What if something happened to Doug? Something bad."

"Come on, you can't think like that." Marley shook her head. She was almost trying to tell herself the same thing.

"I mean, what if he's dead?" Alan continued, "I can't afford to lose anyone close to me again. It hurts too much."

Marley scooted over to him and wrapped an arm over his shoulder, "Alan, trust me. Doug is a strong guy. He'll be safe."

"I was so upset when my grandpa died."

"Oh, I'm sorry." Phil said, "How did he die?"

"World War II."

"He died in battle?" Marley asked him.

Alan shook his head, "No, he was skiing in Vermont. It was just during World War II."

Phil was still trying to be nice to Alan and looked him directly in the eyes, "Alan, Doug is fine."

"Well, why hasn't he called?"

"I don't know, but, we'll figure it out." Phil gave him a nod.

Stu came back around the corner and called over to them, "I'll tell you another thing, 6-1 odds our car is beat to shit."

"Stu, not now." Phil said to him, quietly.

"No, but, how much you wanna bet it's fucked up beyond recognition?"

Phil stood up and walked to Stu, "That's enough. Alan's seriously worried, let's not freak him out any more."

Stu handed Marley her Diet Coke and she gave him a nod to thank him. He walked over to Alan and smiled at him, "Sorry, Alan. We'll search the car for clues and everything's gonna be okay."

The sound of a car engine began to come close to them, Marley stood up and Phil turned away and faced the building behind them, "Oh shit. I can't watch. Barbie, just tell me what it looks like."

"Not looking. Not looking." Stu covered his eyes.

The car turned around the corner, coming into Marley's view. As the driver came to a stop, it was clear the car was in the same condition as the last time she had seen it. The only difference being that the convertible top was was put up. Marley couldn't believe it. The car they had drove drunk and high was completely fine.
