"She said what?"
Jhonny couldn't believe what he was hearing. The audacity of Mya to even think she could buy his club knowing their history was fucking hilarious. The siblings hadn't talked in months, and as far as Jhonny was concerned, he could go the rest of his life without getting caught up with his destructive and hard headed sister.
Ever since he kicked her out of the business, they might as well have been strangers. So when Rhino walked into the spot with that information, Jhonny let out an unperturbed laugh and shook his head.
"That bitch couldn't buy a pack of gum off of me," he spat.
Rhino laughed, uneasily.
"That's family. You two need to hash that shit out."
"I don't have to do a damn thing. Besides, I haven't made that decision to sell yet. I don't know how I feel about giving up my legacy. Jhonny's is my pride and joy," Jhonny said, shrugging as he ashed his cigar.
"It ain't like your ass is ever there. You might as well cash in while it's still relevant in the city. Mya has been with you since the beginning, she's a good choice, bro."
"Since when the fuck did you start running the redemption campaign for Mya?"
Jhonny narrowed his eyes at his friend who was starting to get on his last damn nerves. He was tired of explaining himself to niggas, tired of hearing niggas opinions, and tired of waiting until he was no longer in proximity to niggas who would never see his vision. Rhino didn't understand that Jhonny wasn't fond of forgiveness. No matter who you were. Blood wasn't thicker than a stack of bread.
Rhino threw his hands up in defense.
"I'm not. You just got a long going on right now with that deal you keep talking about. What's going on with that shit anyway?"
"I don't know. That nigga Haru keep telling me to be patient. Supposedly he got some shit cooking up within the next few days."
"That nigga is playing you like a hoe. That lil bit of weight he's giving us ain't shit compared to what we did on the east coast. I say you give that nigga an ultimatum."
Jhonny wasn't in the mood for any advice. He was well aware that while he was pushing some good product in Nevada, his footprint wasn't anywhere as big as it was on the east coast. He uprooted his team in hopes of expanding to a bigger and better market, but Haru had him sitting on his hands for months now. And there was no way he could go back home unless it was to check up on Jhonny's. He needed his seat at the table, asap.
Before Jhonny could respond, his attention was stolen by a call coming in on his phone. He checked the caller ID to see Clover calling. He rolled his eyes and tucked the phone back into his pocket. She was another thing on his last nerves. This supposed pregnancy was threatening his relationship with Isis. Jhonny was foolish, but he wasn't dumb. He could tell that she knew something, he just didn't know how much. Whatever it was, it was enough to pull away so far he could barely hold on.
Typically, Jhonny would just say fuck it. He was Jhonny Savage and could replace a woman like a pair of socks. But it was something about Isis that had him going crazy internally. He hadn't ever seen anything like it. Which made Haru's plan even more difficult. According to the Japanese man, he had formed an alliance with other members of the Dragon family and were going to challenge Sachi's seat. If successful, Haru would take leadership and appoint Jhonny as his partner.
Finally, Savage would be international - reaching a peak that his father failed to. He would finally reinstate the legacy of the Savage Soldiers. He knew that Isis wouldn't be happy that he was essentially taking her spot, but he hoped she would eventually just fall in line and be the wife she was meant to be. His wife. His gift. His legacy.
