Skylar was walking deep into the forest. Only darkness was surrounding her. She felt as though she was lost. She could not see anything that was at least a foot ahead of her. She knew that she did not have any way to get out of this forest. She knew she was dead.
Suddenly, Skylar gasped for air as she felt her throat get stuck for air intake. She opened her mouth, and massaged her throat, making way for the air to go inside. But however she tried, nothing worked. She hunched, and breathed loudly. Her ragged breathing was the only audible sound within the forest. Skylar knew she was dead.
At once, Skylar choked. She knew this was not because of the constricting of air, and she felt something grip her around her neck. Skylar gasped, and her hands groped her neck in the darkness. Her eyes grew big, as she was able to get hold of a slimy withering hand. It was too slimy, that as soon as Skylar was able to hold it, her fingers slipped. Skylar whimpered. Is nothing going to work her way?
The hold on Skylar's neck started to strengthen. She felt her eyes bulge, and her face started to look blue, because air was still constricting on her throat. Slowly, Skylar started to feel dizzy. She tried to shake her head, and she shut her eyes tight. But in the complete darkness of the forest, she was only able to see stars in her closed eyes. She knew she was dead.
Falling... falling...
As soon as it had started, suddenly, the grip lost her neck. Skylar stood up straight, and bent down in two, gasping for air, as she realized that the grip was lost. She touched her neck, and realized that her neck was free from the slimy fingers again. Thanking God for whatever that had happened, and her release, she turned to her side, thinking of walking further into the forest.
The bats took flight at once, as Skylar's high pitched scream cut clearly through the dead night. She shivered where she was and stared at the face that was in front of her. A face that was in the size of a small coconut, was inches away from her nose. Its skin was not visible, as hair was all around its face. Its forehead was opened in a large gash, and even her skull was peeking through her forehead. Her eyebrows were hard to find in the mesh of dark hair that was all over her face. Her eyes were not symmetrical. Her left eye was too large, and her right eye was too small. Only a speck of black was visible in the large white eye ball. Even the veins in the eyes were turned green and it bulged in the darkness, thumping blood inside. Her nose was missing, and only the triangular shaped hole was there in her face. The shadow of the skull. Her cheekbones were broken on both sides, and it was turned blue. Only there, the hair that covered her face was very thin. Her lips were turned inside, and it was wrinkled. That too, was very dark, and black. Her pointy chin reached her neck, and a large red mole on the side of her chin stood out from her dark face. To make matters worse, the left side of her face was covered in some slimy green gooey liquid that was running down her head.
Skylar shivered. She moved her head to the side, and noticed that the green slimy liquid was coming from inside her head, which was cracked open into two. Suddenly, Skylar heard a heavy ragged breathing. With fear engulfing her heart, Skylar slowly looked down at her face again. She was hunched, so her head was just over Skylar's chest. A shudder ran down through Skylar's spine as she noticed that there were a hundred gashes decorating her bone thin, but smelly body. Smell of as though she had lived for years in a large garbage dump, went up through Skylar's nose. She squinted her nose and looked at the woman again. Skylar lost the balance of her feet, as the woman's eyes met straight into Skylar's. It tried to bear her down, to make her retreat, but Skylar stood where she was. She did not even flinch.
At once, the woman raised her hand, and brought it up, cutting through the air, gaining velocity. Soon it came into contact with Skylar's left cheek. Skylar lost her footing and she fell down sideways as she felt as though her soul was rattling inside her skull, due to the sudden blow. With tears that started to well up in her eyes, Skylar felt her anger start to boil, reaching the surface. She saw the lady looking down at her, and she wanted to see blood in her face. She snapped her fingers, not breaking eye contact with the woman. She waited.
