Chapter 04

Skylar's eyes grew large in horror. 'No, no it can't be,' she thought as the man before Reese moved his head to the side, his eyes growing small and his thin lips crooked into the side in a victorious smirk.

"Well, well, look whom we have here," he chanted as Reese turned her head and looked at Skylar, her eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

"Sky, do you, do you know him?" she asked as Skylar darted her eyes towards Reese. She let out a breath out from her lips and nodded slowly. Reese looked at the man again, confusion clouding her eyes. "But, but, how? Who is he?" she asked again, rounding on Skylar. The man snorted and laughed humorlessly.

"And that is a very big surprise. This is too bad Skylar," he mocked as he turned towards Skylar, raising an eyebrow and he tied his hand across his chest. Skylar knew she was in very big trouble. "Isn't she your best friend, Skylar? Or should I say, Sky?" he mocked again as Skylar felt her neck go red in anger.

"What is happening here, Sky? Who is he?" Reese asked loudly, banging her fist on her forehead. Skylar turned towards her, as her eyes started to water.

"I'll explain everything later Ree," she replied, her eyes pleading for forgiveness. Reese looked at Skylar's eyes and she nodded understandingly. The man coughed pointedly.

"Yeah, yeah Ree. She will tell you everything later," he drawled, emphasizing on the word 'everything'. Skylar took a long step and stood before Reese. She pushed her hands deep into her pockets.

"What do you want, Dre?" she demanded.

At once the man's, Dre's expression changed into a stony one. Reese shivered looking at his stony expressionless eyes. Dre closed his eyes turning his head down, and at once opened his eyes staring straight into Skylar's eyes. Reese felt a chill go down her spine and was actually surprised looking at Skylar not even flinching, staring at the man with the same level of hatred.

"Tell me!" Skylar screamed as Reese lost the balance of her feet and had to touch Skylar's shoulder to regain her balance once more. Skylar turned her head to the side by a fraction and saw Reese from the side of her eye. "Don't worry Ree, nothing harm will happen to you." she said from the corner of her mouth as Reese looked at Skylar's eyes and nodded. For a second, her fears were forgotten. She knew as Skylar was there with her, she would never let anything bad happen to herself.

Skylar turned towards Dre again. She turned her head to the side and smirked. "Cat got your tongue, Dre?" she hissed mockingly.

Dre composed himself and put his head back in laughter. "Never darling, never." he replied as Skylar's eyebrows knitted together.

"You know perfectly well what I need, Skylar. Or rather what she needs," he emphasized as Skylar felt fear rise in herself. But she did not show it from her eyes.

"And if you think that I will give in so quickly for what she needs, you are mistaken Dre, as always." Skylar smirked.

Dre's face fell. At once a dark shadow crossed his face and Reese, forgetting what she was doing, ran away towards the school building and rooted down the wall covering her ears and praying to God that nothing bad should happen to either of the two, Skylar or her.

"You know very well not to piss me off Skylar. Or are you so desperate that you want her here with you?" he asked as Skylar laughed loudly.

"You know very well enough to not to piss me off Dre. If I remember correctly, I think even the scars from the past are still there," she said again and took her hands out of her pockets. Dre's eyes moved towards her hands and his eyebrows knotted together as suddenly blue flames issued from her hands. Skylar lifted her lips up from the corner.
