Henry scratched his eyebrows. He looked worriedly at Skylar as she too looked at him, waiting for him to give her instructions on what to do. She had been making decisions on her own, covering herself and all of her loved ones from potential danger, and now, as she had revealed everything about herself to her father, she had not wanted to take decisions anymore. So, she leaned back on the chair and closed her eye, waiting for her father's reply.
After a long time, Henry reached a decision and turned towards Skylar. "Sk -" he stopped himself from continuing further, as he saw that she had fallen asleep on the sofa, her head fallen down to her shoulder. Henry smiled as he looked at her. He shook his head to the sides, heaving a deep breath and got up from the sofa. He gently held her shoulders and placed them on the cushiony arm of the sofa and gently lifted up her legs onto the sofa. He slowly went up the stairs and opened her room's door. He gazed around the room, and smiled as he saw that it was the same way as it had been when she was young. He went inside the room, and took her pillows and her comforter with him.
Henry smiled as he saw that Skylar had not even stirred after he had left her, and he gently placed the pillow under her head. He covered herself with the comforter and smiled as he saw a sweet smile play on her lips. He removed her glasses and placed them in front of her, on the table. After placing a light kiss on her head, Henry went towards the kitchen to prepare some breakfast for them, thinking that his daughter had spent enough days, or years, fighting on her own and that he will be there for her, fighting alongside her, even if she wanted to protect himself from dangers that was meant to find her.
Skylar yawned and opened her eyes as she stared around her, wondering why her room looked different. She turned her head to the side and saw the cushion of the sofa as she wondered, why had she fallen asleep there. She turned to her side, careful to not to put weight on her wound, and sat up straight, turning her head here and there, adjusting herself to look from one eye. As her eyes fell on the pillow and her comforter, she thought that her father had brought her down for her. She smiled for herself. She had been having a very peaceful nap after years of troubled nights.
Skylar lifted her arms to push her hair back from her face when she saw that her father had even applied ointment to all the gashes on both of her arms and legs. She smiled again. The love she had for her father increased by a million folds. She had been afraid, thinking of how her father would react after learning the truth, but he had been very understanding of her, and to make matters feel the best, he had not uttered a single word asking her to be careful. He had stood with her. He had not let her down. And for Skylar, that meant the world.
"Darling." Skylar wore her glasses, and turned her head more than ninety degrees as she looked at her father with a single eye.
"Dad," she said slowly as he came towards her with a plate laden with food.
"You could have slept more darling." he said and sat beside her, taking the fork to his hand. He shook his head no, as Skylar tried to take it from him, but she knew that she would not be able to hold the fork in her hand as they were slippery with ointment.
"Dad," Skylar called her father as he fed her the food silently.
"Yes darling," he replied as he brought the fork up to her lips again. She opened her mouth and chewed on the food. After she had gulped it down, she spoke. "Have you decided yet, dad?" she asked and Henry placed the fork slowly on the plate. He turned towards Skylar and nodded.
"Yes Sky," he said. "I have." he sighed. Skylar waited. "I think that it would be best if you reveal all the details to Reese and Ed." he finished as Skylar looked up, surprised at him.
"Are you sure dad?" she asked slowly as Henry nodded.
"Yes Sky. I am sure," he said and Skylar believed him. If her father had advised her to do so, she was not going to question him again. "I think that both Reese and Ed have the right to learn the truth. And because Reese is your best friend, you cannot hide this from her anymore, and as for Ed," he paused, pondering with himself. "Even though he wants to be your boyfriend, he should know your history and what sort of troubles that he also would have to face because of it." he finished and looked at Skylar waiting for her to disagree. He had some extra points as a back up to make her understand the severity of the situation, but he did not have to use them, as Skylar nodded understandingly.
