Skylar jumped in her room. She could not believe that she had finally said yes to Ed. She knew that both of them shared the same feelings, but never had she even guessed that Ed would find enough guts to share that with her. As she started remembering what had happened that evening, bubbles of happiness started to boil in her stomach. Skylar smiled shyly as she remembered how she had blushed as Ed had stared at her. She looked down in embarrassment. She could understand why the monster in her stomach had started asking for food whenever he was near her and what was the sudden feeling that crept up her cheeks.
Skylar jumped on to the bed, landing on the mattress, her arms and legs hanging loosely. That day had been memorable for her. She knew that as long as she lived, she would not forget the day anytime soon.
The smile on Skylar's face fell as soon as she remembered that she will not be able to keep her secrets within her anymore. She could feel Ed pestering about them until she had shared them with him. But was she strong enough to do so? Could she share her secrets with him?
Skylar stood up straight on her bed, as she heard her father calling out for her.
"Coming dad," she shouted as her eyes met her reflection on the mirror. There was a large stupid grin on her face. She had not shared this new piece of information with her dad yet. At once her face fell. She had not shared it with Reese either. She knew that on the next day, she would be finished as she would have to go through every single detail that had happened that day.
Not wanting to dawdle anymore and worry her father, Skylar jumped down from the bed and had a quick shower. She changed her clothes for a long sleeved t-shirt and got out of the room, after patting her hair down her neck. Her blue strands were standing proudly around her neck.
"Sky," Henry called her, surprised, as she grinned at the plate. He was happy to see her so happy suddenly, but he too wanted to know the reason behind it.
"Yes dad." Skylar said looking up from her plate of food.
"Are you alright? You look happy today. Very happy." he grinned, raising his eyebrows as Skylar bit her lips, trying not to grin. She nodded.
"Yes dad. I am very happy. Very very happy." she grinned. Henry's eyebrows raised up.
"Care to share it with me darling?" he asked as Skylar nodded.
"Of course dad. I was definitely going to share it with you first." she said and stared at the fork on her plate. She could feel the emotions bubbling up inside her.
"Dad," Skylar started looking straight at her father. "Eddie asked me to be his girlfriend." Skylar broke out the information at once, skipping through the details as a wide grin spread across her father's face.
"Really?" he asked. Skylar nodded. "I am so happy for you darling. I knew that he liked you." he grinned as Skylar looked surprised at him.
"How did you know that dad? Even I didn't even realize my feelings for him, until today." she said as her eyes squinted.
"A father knows those things, my darling." Henry said proudly, cocking his head to the side. Skylar nodded understandingly.
"If you say so dad." she smiled as Henry leaned over the table and gently caressed her head.
"But, if you ever feel that you are not ready to continue the relationship, just let him know. Or even if he started to trouble you or you know, make you feel uncomfortable in any way, let me know darling." he said as Skylar laughed. "I don't want you being sad." he finished shrugging his shoulders, as Skylar nodded understandingly.
"Yes dad, sure. I'll let you know." she smiled and Henry returned the smile. They stared at each other and finished their food.
After a very full meal, Skylar entered her room after she had kissed good night to her father. Skylar beamed happily as she changed to her night clothes. She got into the bed and pulled her comforter around herself.
