How would it feel if your biggest enemy became worldwide famous and rich?
Well, I can tell you now, I feel bitter and annoyed.
Somehow, he managed to succeed and leave you in the dirt, a monotonous life on repeat. Thanks alot.
Eunbyeol told me to drop the grudge, he probably doesn't even remember my existence anymore, and I guess she's right - it would be the mature thing to drop something from years ago.
But no. I refuse.
I refuse to drop the grudge till I see that man suffer as much as I did.
But nevermind, he's clearly not suffering when he's travelling across countries week to week, and I'm sat in the same cycle of boredom and dissatisfaction.
SIX YEARS AGO
Everybody thought me and Park Sunghoon would end up together, everybody. Ever since kindergarten we were friends, immediately, we just clicked at the very young age of 5.
Since then, it was always us against the world.
We enrolled in the same high school, went everywhere together. I watched his football matches and his basketball games on the benches during school.
He bought me a drink nearly every morning and placed it on my desk in the homeroom almost every morning, we were literally the epitome of best friends.
Nobody could've ever come between us.
Up until college, that is.
I remember vividly times in high school where me and Sunghoon were pretty close to dating - I felt it in my bones, it's a reoccurring moment and I wonder what ever stopped us.
"Get- over here!" Sunghoon dragged me into the boy's locker rooms by the blazer collar. He pushed me into a bathroom stall, locking the door after me.
It was just us in the stall, nobody was in the changing rooms, just the two of our bodies breathing heavily after making a run from a teacher.
The clicking of heels were heard, stopping, looking around, more clicking, and then they slowly-gradually evaporated into thin air.
Now it was just our pacing, quiet breaths together, in such a small stall.
I looked up at him, his brown bowl cut was rather cute now that I looked at him. And his eyes gave some sort of sparkle as he looked down at me. I think we were both thinking the exact same thing.
"We are so fucked if they find us." I giggled quietly, he suddenly placed his hand over my mouth. My heart beat slightly out of my chest.
The clicking came back.
"IF ANYBODY IS IN HERE. I AM LOCKING THE DOOR, SO SHOW IF YOU'RE IN." The teacher yelled, there was silence between us, we just looked at each other, me with panic, him with some sort of coolness.
The heels made way to the bathroom, Sunghoon sat down on the toilet seat, pushing me to sit onto him. He raised his feet up so his legs wouldn't show under the stall. And I wrapped mine around him.
My heart was at an all time race right now. Not just out of the sheer adrenaline, but the position I was in with Sunghoon right now. Oh god, I always warned myself to not like this guy - he was everybody's crush.
You don't even know how much stuff I got from him for Valentine's day. He never accepted any gifts really, well he did, but then just shared them with me.
The heels made way to our stall, and Sunghoon still had his hand over my mouth. The teacher walked across the stalls, trying see if there's anybody in here.
"Hm. They must've left earlier." She sighed, walking out of there. I let out the largest sigh of relief as Sunghoon did the exact same.
His body relaxed, and I still was sat on him, relieved we didn't get caught.
We both burst out into giggles, my heart feeling all warm inside from this moment. He didn't mind I was sat on him, and I didn't mind either.
"She wouldn't be waiting outside for us, would she?" Sunghoon laughed, his cute smile was so iconic, imprinted into my heart and brain forever.
"If she would be, that'd be a bit weird." I giggled back as he stared at me, he tucked a strand of hair behind my ear as he stared into my eyes - pure sparkles and joy.
The bell suddenly rang, and the stomping of students rushing to get out of the building was heard. We took this as the moment to quickly leave and camouflage out of here.
I sat off him, he grabbed my wrist and made way out of the changing rooms, thankfully there was no teacher camping, so we basically accomplished this mission.
"We're too good for them." Sunghoon smiled, raising his hand to do our handshake.
"Always outsmarting them." I completed our handshake as we walked out of the building, the sun was setting already and creating such a pretty view.
"HEY SUNGHOON!" One of Sunghoon's friends ran up to him, placing his arm around him, "Oh hey Nari."
"What's good?" Sunghoon smiled as we walked out of the school gates.
"Don't forget it's guys night out tonight. You know what that means, no Nari allowed." Jaehyun shook his finger at Sunghoon with some smug look on his face.
"Yeah yeah whatever, Nari, come if you want, don't listen to this idiot." He smacked Jaehyun on the back of the head lightly.
"It's alright, I'm going to Eunbyeol's later today, see you guys!" I waved, heading my own separate ways as they started to contest about who could shout 'BYE NARI' the loudest.
I laughed, making my way back home with such unbearable happiness.
