A FEW DAYS LATER

I had my peace and quiet for once, a few days without Eunbyeol yapping down my ear that I should just have a 'friends with benefits' relationship with Sunghoon, and a few days without Sunghoon trying to piss me off intentionally.

I was getting ready for work this morning, and Jungwoo was too. It was silent between the both of us, and this silence and awkwardness was genuinely killing me inside.

Okay, even being single would be better than being in a relationship with Jungwoo.

I did love him, truly, when we first started dating, my life was like a paradise. He was the sweetest guy on earth, he never failed to make me laugh, and although he could be cringe sometimes, you learn to deal with it.

He used to even do the little things like kiss me goodnight, or actually say that he loves me before his way to work.

But now? None of that, it's like we're basically roommates. We share a bed, and share a house, that's about it.

There's nothing more to it, I've tried numerous times, hinting to him that there needs to be more to this relationship otherwise I'm out, but I don't think he's on the same page as me.

And just like that, I've lasted three years with him, and although being with him is killing me seriously, I cannot bring myself to break up with him just like that.

Besides, it seems kind of like effort, trying to find a new place, moving all my stuff, all that, I don't know, I just cannot be bothered.

Speaking of which, as I finished getting ready, Jungwoo looked over at me with a faint smile.

"You look cute." He said, and I gave him a smile, not feeling anything that rushed adrenaline around my body.

I guess that was a change though, he gave me a compliment.

"I'll see you later Nari, have a good shift." And with that, he slammed the door shut. I looked over to make sure he left, and in confusion, I was stuck in a thought.

Okay.. what is with this sudden affection and all these compliments and nice words that came from him? Could this seriously be the day he changes into the man I've wanted him to be his whole life?

I gave myself a pitiful laugh, even if he did change, I felt as if it was too late. Seeing him didn't spike my heart rate, nor did he excite me as much as he used to, it was just the same old same old each day.

With that thought, I left the house, making my way to work.

After arriving, I sat in my office, there was around half an hour til my first client came in for their therapy sessions. Each were an hour long, and I had six appointments, the maximum per day.

It was the usual thing, six appointments, then I went home, and then the next day, repeat. I liked my job, it was pretty nice giving people advice and counselling, hearing their stories and whatnot.

So, sitting down, I waited, finishing some previous work that I had to do. And finally, the clock struck, and the first client came in.

TWO HOURS LATER

My first two clients finished their session, and after coming back from my break, I had four more appointment left.

I looked to my computer, typing some references and whatnot for later. And suddenly, my door opened, the next client revealing themselves.

I didn't look up quite yet, still focused on finishing this one reference, but before I even looked up, the voice spoke themselves.

"Nice little office you have here." That voice, the familiar sound of Sunghoon, encircled my room.

I shot my head from my computer screen, and stared at the man who was looking around my space. His face had light makeup on, his outfit fully black with a red leather jacket that was partially slung off his shoulders.

Somebody needs to take me away from this man before I resurrect myself to heaven.

"I have clients, so make it quick." I stared at him coldly, not budging a single inch.

He sat down, just staring at me back, with such a cocky smirk all over his face, such an annoying face that I loved.

"I am your client, eh, clients. I bought four sessions." Sunghoon gave me a devious grin, so proud of himself while my jaw slowly dropped slightly.

I did not want to believe this right now, I just stared at him, in pure awe, and pure shock at the same time.

Four hours, with this guy.

Please, if a plane doesn't crash into my office and kill me, I'll just do it myself.

"Please tell me you're joking." I managed to give out a snicker from my lips, one of pure confusion and disbelief.

"So serious, so please, Miss Therapist, if you will, can I tell you about my problems?" He teased, the most taunting smile protruding from his lips.
