My teenage life had never been so exciting, each day was an adventure with Sunghoon. It was all sunshine and rainbows up until we turned 16.

Well, Sunghoon was 17, but I was 16.

He finally met a girl.

FIVE YEARS AGO

I knew Sunghoon had a girlfriend, I was expecting it to happen anyways. That guy would definitely not end up single.

It did pain me a little, knowing that there was really nothing in between us except from a friendship. But it's the way life goes - and I probably should've anticipated that to happen anyways.

I thought she was a good person, up until I caught her openly cheating.

I paid for my snacks, it was late at night so just a quick stop by the convenience store was all. I made my way out, looking through the windows of some stores nearby.

Up until a familiar figure made me pause walking, I stared through the glass, trying to make out if I was really seeing things.

But no, it was truly Mirae. Sunghoon's girlfriend.

And not only was she not with Sunghoon - she was openly kissing another man. You couldn't even say that it was a 'friendly-platonic kiss' it was very, very passionate.

I tried to hurry and grab my phone, I managed to take a hurried photo, but she noticed and quickly stormed over to exit. I panicked and quickly made a run for it, all I heard was her screaming after me.

God, this is going to be news to break to Sunghoon.

I sat at home, nervously fidgeting with my phone as I debated whether to send the first message.

mnari: sunghoon, mirae is cheating on you

psh: what are you talking about

psh: she's literally on facetime with me right now

mnari: no you dont understand i literally caught her

mnari: she was kissing some other dude at that chicken shop

mnari: near that 7/11

psh: nari dont try and fucking sabotage my relationship because you dont have one

psh: i know Mirae well enough to know she wouldn't do that

psh: besides she's literally facetiming me on the streets of seoul

psh: how could she even cheat like that?

mnari: DUDE

mnari: I LITERALLY SAW HER

mnari: i'm not trying to sabotage your fucking dumbass relationship either

mnari: i'm just trying to help you

And that conversation lasted forever, it was our biggest - maybe even first serious argument. An argument that cost us our friendship. It was - what I didn't know - going to make me hate this man for the rest of my life probably.

Eunbyeol's daughter, Lea, was dancing to the tv. And you'd never even guess what was on the tv, Sunghoon and his band.

One of their songs were playing on the tv, and his band was unavoidable, it was everywhere. The greatest influence in Korea probably.

I crossed my arms, then reached for the remote and switched the channel. Lea stopped, looked at me and pouted, she was only like 2 years old, so she had no idea.

This man was pure evil.

Sure, he had the face of some model, body of a model, voice of an angel. All the above, but this guy was now - permanently on my blacklist. I was never going to forgive him.

Eunbyeol groaned at my pettiness.

"Really Nari? You switched off the music because of Sunghoon?" She rolled her eyes with a small smile, "This was from like, millions of years ago."

"It was actually five years ago he turned into a full asshole." I scoffed as she covered Lea's ears.

"Five years this, five years that. He probably wouldn't even recall your name anymore, he's in a different world now. You gotta learn to forgive and forget." Eunbyeol tried to console me with some of her wise words.

Yeah, easy for her to say, since she wasn't the one who became targeted by Mirae for several months afterwards, all because I was trying to help Sunghoon not fall into a toxic relationship.

Matter of fact, their relationship only did last a few months - why? You'd never guess - Sunghoon caught Mirae cheating - in his own house too.

And all I could do was laugh, seeing him come into college with such an irritated face. Because, I was right all along.

"Whatever." I rolled my eyes, switching the tv back on and his band came back on. Lea started to dance once more.

It was annoying seeing him everywhere, he had a large fanbase, successful life, campaigns, money, lifestyle. He had everything, and what did I have? Not much aside from a grudge against him still.

I suppose he just got lucky this time. I still, prefer all the members aside from him. At least his bandmates seem better than he is.

"Oh fuck!" Eunbyeol swore, then realised what she just said out loud, but she was too focused on her phone.

I looked up at her, raising an eyebrow as for her reaction.
