Hinata stepped into the flowershop, her face bright red. Sakura had looked beautiful. The way the sun glinted off her shining, lit-up eyes, and the way her hair moved gently in the soft breeze...it was all too much. Hinata nearly had a heart attack.

Hinata used to like Naruto. This was in junior high, though, so it wasn't too important of a fact. But once they got into high-school, Hinata started to noticed how hard her heart would beat whenever she was near Sakura, how red he'd face got whenever said woman would compliment her or get too close, the same way these things used to happen around Naruto. And, eventually, Hinata and Sakura got close. The two had a lot more in common than they had realized. Now, Hinata was a wreck any time she saw Sakura.

Seeing the woman she liked holding hands with her other best friend, someone she used to like as well, hurt her, though. But Hinata couldn't blame Sakura for falling for Naruto; he's was sucu a kind, wonderful person. Naruto always looked out for others before himself, and helped everyone he could, even when he couldn't help himself. Hinata admired him for this. She even fell for him because of this quality and the way in which he cared for others. But now, her eyes had left his and were following a certain woman, one who was taken.

Sighing, Hinata made her way through the shop, not fully paying attention. She would have to come back down again just to have a look, since she couldn't focus on a single thing any more. At least, anything other than Sakura and her beautiful, perfect face and her infectious laughter.

It was too late for Hinata, she was already too deep. And now, there was no going back.

...

Hot kisses ran down Sakura's neck, Naruto's tongue sliding along her skin. She shivered, running her hands along his chest and stomach, feeling his warmth and breathing in his scent.

They had made it back to Naruto's place, having spent the whole day together. Now, at five o'clock in the evening, here they were, unable to keep their hands off one another any longer.

As much as Sakura enjoyed Naruto's touch and company, her mind couldn't seem to focus on the attention he was giving her. She kept thinking back to that man in the shop and Hinata with her long, pretty hair and beautiful, hypnotic eyes. The smile that had graced Hinata's lips was engraved into her brain and at the forefront of her thoughts.

She knew it was awful, she knew it was wrong, but she couldn't stop herself. She couldn't stop thinking of what life would be like with someone else, without Naruto as her boyfriend. Of course, she wouldn't want Naruto out of her life completely. She enjoyed being around him, had fun hanging out with him, and didn't wish for him to ever actually leave her, but she could no longer look at him with the same hearts in her eyes, nor could she feel that same love she once had for the man. But she couldn't break his heart, not after everything. Sakura couldn't find it in her to break things off. Not whenever he was such a great guy, not when he was everything she needed in life: stable, willing to work things out, kind, and able to keep up with her crazy mind. He loved her no matter what and she loved him for that, but that love was no longer the same as it was. Eventually, over time, things had changed, and she wasn't exactly sure when. When did she start seeing him as more of a friend than a boyfriend? And when did she decide that she wanted out of their relationship? Was it an unconscious decision, or was she aware of her choices?

And what was she going to do?

Naruto didn't deserve this. He didn't, she knew that, but she couldn't do anything. She couldn't. What was there to do?

Naruto pulled back, frowning. "Baby," he whispered, cupping her face.

Sakura startled, but forced herself to relax under her touch. She let out a long breath, swallowing hard.
