Surprise

-Malory's POV-

I wake up at 6 am so I can get to my flight that takes off at noon. I double check my suitcase and carry on. I run to my bathroom take a quick shower. I dress comfortable for the plane.
Red track sweatshirt, black leggings that ended at my knee, and my red toms. I brush my teeth and swipe on some mascara. I pull my hair into a messy bun.

"Hey mom I'm ready to leave for the airport!" I say while bouncing down the stairs. Knowing me, I trip on the last step. I jog into the kitchen and grab a granola bar, I make my way into the living room where my mothers face is red and puffy. I get concerned and I sit down next to her. "Hey mom what's up?" I ask concerned.

"Malory, your staying in Wisconsin." She says flatly.

"Why? This has already been planned out. I was going to go spend the rest of the summer is North Carolina with-" I started to ramble but my mom cut me off.

"Your staying in Wisconsin because you father was shot in combat. Malory your father died" she told me with tears streaming down her face. I didn't say anything I just ran up to my room and called Cassi because I wasn't coming and she had to know.

(Phone M- Malory C-Cassi)

M- hey Cassi can I tell you something?

C- yeah anything

M- I can't come to North Carolina anymore.

C- What why?!

M- my father died.

C- oh my god, I'm so sorry Malory.

M- it's okay, I'll get through it, I'm gonna go to Tyler's house so I can talk to him. Bye Cassi.

C- By Malory, I love you, stay strong.

(End of Convo)

I couldn't say I love you to her back, because I've already hurt her. Big time. And she will never forgive me for it.

-Cassi's POV-

I call Lauren and see if she wants to come to Magcon with me. I don't want to go alone, I don't know if there will be any other girls. Lauren comes over and I will ask her when she gets here. She walks in the house and goes straight to my kitchen and grabs a bag of chips. She walks to my living room and grabs the netflix remote and turns on "The Secret Life and the American Teenager" I laugh at her and sit down too.

My phone goes off and it plays 'I Wouldn't Mind' by He is We and that's Kyle's ringtone. I grab my phone and press answer.

"Hey babe" I say into the phone. I hear him sigh and I put it on speaker. Lauren pauses the show and listens.

"Hey Cassidy. I've got to tell you something." He says angrily.

"Okay what is it?"

"I'm breaking up with you. You're going on tour with boys and I don't want you to cheat on me even though you already have. so I decided to end it. And I found someone new" he tells me.

"Oh. Okay. But I never cheated on you!" I say on the verge of tears. Lauren walks to the kitchen and grabs ice cream and a spoon "but if you don't believe me, who's your new girlfriend?"

"Malory."

"Oh, I hope we can still be friends" I say to him.

"Yeah, no. Your a slut. I saw your Instagram post. And Malory said she did that because she was embarrassed to be seen with you." he tells and and hangs up the phone.

Lauren sets the ice cream down and pulls me into a hug. I cry into my shoulder and I see I have a text from Malory.

Malory: can we still be friends?
