"So your dad apologised to you?"

I nodded as Sam handed me a beer, I pulled the cap off and took a sip before sitting down. The boys had picked me up from my house a week ago and I'd had to say goodbye for good.

"He said I don't have bad bone in my body." I grinned, taking another sip and Sam chuckled. "Told ya." He clinked his beer against mine and we smiled at each other. Dean was out the back of the motel, fixing up something on his car, and Sam and I had just finished cleaning up the mess from dinner.

"So, how was your case in Indiana? I forgot to ask."

Sam almost choked on his beer at the question and I frowned at him. "Sorry, it- it was good." I glared at him and his unusual choice of words to describe a monster case. Eventually my stare broke him and he sighed loudly. "We didn't go there looking for a case."

I raised my eyebrows. "Dean wanted to go see someone." Sam looked at me suggestively and I tapped the table confused for a moment, until it all made sense. He'd gone there to see a woman. It annoyed me but I couldn't get mad, he'd made sure not to do it in front of me but it still made me question whether his 'feelings' for me were real in the first place. "That's... nice." I said and the door swung open, Dean beaming.

"Baby is fixed!" He walked over to us gleefully and placed his hands on my shoulders squeezing them. "She's up and running again." He sighed happily and then took my beer from my hands finishing it off. "Let's hit the road, I'm thinking vegas!"
...
I sat in the back of the impala with my legs across the seat; and my headphones plugged in. I wanted to try getting some sleep before we got to whatever destination we were headed too. I closed my eyes, the faint sound of a Nirvana song beating in my ears until it was drowned out by shouting from the front seat. I pulled my headphones out and leant forward, it was dark outside and I could barely see their faces but I could sense the tension.

"Because Demon, that's why. I mean the second you find out this Ruby chick is a Demon you go for the holy water! You don't chat!"

My mouth opened wide. "Who's Ruby?"

Sam sighed. "That blonde girl that saved my ass and no one was chatting Dean!"

I frowned, that girl was a demon? It would explain the blade she had that could kill a demon.

"Oh yeah? Then why didn't you send her ass back to Hell?"

"Because - Because she said she might be able to help us out!" Sam paused and I furrowed my brow. "Help with what?" He stayed quiet and sighed at me.

Dean looked over to his brother. "No really, Sam, how? How could she possibly help us?" Dean pulled up somewhere and I squinted out of the window realising we were outside Bobby's.

"She told me she could help you, OK?"

Dean glared at his brother confused.

"Help you out of the crossroads deal." He finished and I raised my eyebrow as Dean slapped the steering wheel and chuckled. "What is wrong with you, huh? She's lying, you gotta know that, don't you? She knows what your weakness is – it's me." Dean sighed. "What else did she say?"

Sam shook his head. "Nothing, okay. Look I'm not an idiot Dean, I'm not talking about trusting her, I'm talking about using her. I mean we're at war, right? And we don't know jack about the enemy; we don't know where they are, we don't know what they're doing. I mean, hell, we don't know what they want. Now this Ruby girl knows more than we will ever find out on our own. Now yes, it's a risk, I know that, but we need to take it."

I twisted my mouth to the side. I wanted to help Dean as much as Sam did but using a demon didn't sound like the right way about it and I was surprised that Sam would even consider it. "Sam, are you feeling okay?" I asked quietly from the back, genuinely concerned. "Yes I'm fine." He snapped back before looking out the window. "Why are we at Bobby's?"
