My jaw clenched as I looked around the room, Sam was still stood awkwardly, with the man to his side. The woman was eyeing up Dean who was practically blowing smoke out of his ears.

"Dean hold on okay- Just let me-"

"You gonna say, "let me explain"? You're gonna explain this? How about this? Why don't you start with who she is, and what the hell is she doing here?"

I looked down at my feet feeling completely out of place, Dean was more than angry, I could feel it radiating from him. The woman gave him a dull smile before stepping forward.

"Nice to see you again Dean."

Dean's face twisted into confusion for a second until it flattened with realisation. "Ruby? Tell me that isn't Ruby."

Sam didn't respond and before I knew it, Dean had rushed Ruby, grabbing her by the collar and pinning her to the wall. He pulled the demon knife out and pressed it against her, every inch of me begging him to strike but Sam ran over and stopped him. They fought over the knife and Sam managed to finish with it but not before his older brother slammed him into the other side of the wall. I watched as Ruby ran to defend Sam, she grabbed Dean by the back of the neck and pulled him, my instinct's quickly kicked in. I rushed over, swinging my leg out and knocking Ruby down, she stood up, furious, as she charged at me. She threw a punch but I ducked and threw my own, landing straight on her cheek. Every hit that she threw at me, I countered easily. My months of torturing demons had been awful but they'd taught me one thing- how to be a better fighter.

She grabbed my hair and swung my head down, kneeing me in the face before pushing me back into the wall and charging at me with a wooden beam.

"RUBY STOP!" Sam shouted and she listened, coming to a halt. I grinned at her before spitting some blood out and standing up straight. "Aren't you an obedient bitch." I spat, her eyes glazed with more fury but as Sam requested, she stayed back and dropped the beam to the floor. "To think we used to be such good friends, I was sad to hear what monstrous things you were doing all those months ago."

I screwed my face up at her angrily. "Shut your mouth."

She opened her mouth to give me another retort but Sam interrupted her by handing her over the injured man, telling her to leave. She took a hold of the man and started walking out the door, Sam walked past, following her but I grabbed him, stopping him. "Where do you think you're going?"

As he started to respond, he looked behind us where Dean was, exiting through the back door. He started running towards him but I stopped him again. "Just let him go." I said quietly as we heard the sound of the impala engine purr as it skidded out of the street.

Sam sighed and then looked back at me, I just shook my head at him. "What the hell are you doing?"

He looked at me sadly. "I'm helping people."

I squinted my eyes at him, daring myself to ask the question. "How did you do that?"

He swallowed and I pressed my lips together, the actual question was, 'are you drinking her blood', and based on the look in his eyes, I knew the answer was yes.

"Sam, you have to stop. Trust me." I tried to sound soothing but his face distorted into one of patronage. "Just because you couldn't control it doesn't mean I can't."

I scoffed at him. "I thought that at the beginning too."

His expression didn't falter so I tried to fight my argument further. "I know how it makes you feel, strong, powerful but eventually it takes over you, it turns you into something that you're not."
