I was in a bad mood. Not just a normal kind of bad mood or a little stroppy- I was the utmost grump in the world at that precise moment in time. My wrist was still painful, I'd had to have an operation to re position the bones that were out of place and had to wear a cast for six weeks. We'd just gotten back from Pamela's funeral and I was still sour about her death, she was once again dragged in to help with angel business and this time she lost more than just her sight, she lost her life. And the cherry on top- we were on our way to meet Ruby, my least favourite person in the world because she had some leads on Lilith. When Sam suggested the idea, the three of us argued over it for a long time and I told them about her part in taking me to the hotel where I killed those demons. Eventually, we came to the decision that she couldn't have known that Farzha was leading me into a trap, and despite the fact that she was a demon, so far all she had done was help. Besides, killing Lilith before she could break all the seals was a lot more important than mine and Dean's dislike for Ruby.

I sat in the backseat of the impala with my head leant back and my eyes closed. I'd not long taken my cocktail of pain meds so I was starting to feel pretty drowsy and the hum of the car's engine was doing a great job at sending me to sleep. Except, Sam and Dean's deep voices kept waking me up.

"Ruby will meet us outside Cheyenne. She's been tracking some leads. I know she's not exactly on either of your christmas lists but she can help us track down Lilith."

I groaned in response.

"Hey man, work with Ruby. I don't give a rats ass." Dean hummed back.

"What's your problem?" Sam retorted. Here we go again, another argument.

"Pamela didn't want anything to do with this, and we dragged her back into it." Dean spoke the thoughts that were sitting in my mind. I took a deep breath in, wanting to just drift off to sleep and let them argue it out.

"She knew what was at stake." Sam argued back and I opened my eyes before shifting forward angrily.

"How can you say that Sam?"

He clenched his jaw and looked over the seat at me. "She chose to help us and for a good reason."

Dean scoffed. "Yeah, saving the world. And we're doing such a damn good job at it."

I raised my eyebrow, maybe I wasn't the most grumpy person in the world right now.

"I'm tired of burying friends." Dean sighed and I leant back in the seat, the tension seemed to be dying down and I wanted to try and get some sleep before we got to the meeting place where Ruby was waiting.
..

I'd managed to fall asleep, I was awoken by Sam who had opened the door and given me a little shake to alert me we were at the motel. I yawned and rubbed my eyes before climbing out the car and stretching for a minute. There weren't any other cars outside the motel so I figured that maybe Ruby wasn't here yet.

"How's your wrist?" Sam asked as he handed me a bottle of water. Dean was at the desk booking us a room, I held my cast up which both boys had immaturely signed the night after I'd gotten it. I'd fallen asleep with a white cast on and woken up the next morning covered in inappropriate doodles. I knew it was mostly Dean because he had the maturity of a twelve year old sometimes.
