I shot up quickly, another nightmare having taken my mind. I felt like I couldn't catch a break, my days were filled with thoughts about hunting, danger and now my father. My nights were filled with my mothers death and yellow eyes. I rolled over in the motel bed and sighed, it was still 4am, too early to get up and start the day plus Dean was still asleep in the other bed. They'd taken me here after my breakdown at the roadhouse and I'd slept for hours and hours. I woke up to tons of messages from Jo and a very worried Dean after finding Sam missing. I guessed they still hadn't gotten over the argument they'd had.
"You awake?" Dean's grumbly voice spoke out of the darkness and I sighed. "Yeah." I think he knew I'd been struggling to sleep recently, a few times he'd caught me having a bad dream. I'd always managed to deal with them in the past but recently they were becoming more regular, I just couldn't escape.
He was snoring again within seconds and I rolled over again, facing the wall. I closed my eyes, fading back into sleep.
Sam was sitting on a chair, in some sort of living room with a man.
"So you say you went to high school with Scott?" The man said. Sam gave him a half hearted smile.
"Uh, yes sir, I did. I just heard about what happened, I'm so sorry."
"Scotty was a good boy. He changed a lot since you knew him." The man looked down at his feet before picking up a photo, a young stood in it wearing a cap and gown from some Indianan university.
"It started about a year ago with these headaches. And then he got depressed, paranoid, nightmares."
"Nightmares? Um, did he ever talk to you about his nightmares? What he saw, or?" Sam continued and the man gave him a strange look. They got up and the man lead Sam up to a bedroom.
"Thanks, Mr Carey."
...."Jesus Faith, it's 6am."
I sat cross legged on the bed, looking at Sam's laptop that he'd left behind. I was searching the name Scott Carey and Indiana and I had just found exactly what I was afraid of. He was real, and he was dead. His mother died in a house fire the same as mine, the same as Sam and Deans and that dream I'd had, it was a vision.
"I know where Sam is." I handed Dean the laptop, standing up and walking to the bathroom to change into some proper clothes. Dean rubbed his eyes before taking a look at what I'd given him.
"Indiana?"
I poked my head out from the bathroom and nodded. "I had a vision."
Dean frowned at me and then sat up, he was shirtless and so I tried to avert my eyes.
"That's Sam's thing." He raised his eyebrow. "You see dead people, he see's people before they die."
I nodded. "Well, obviously my 'ability' is expanding." I walked back out of the bathroom now dressed and reached into my bag to get a claw clip for my hair. I stood in front of the mirror and put my hair up as Dean continued to frown at me.
"Well what did you see?"
I explained my vision to Dean and thankfully he had some faith in me because he got up and got ready to head to Indiana. We sat in the car and began to drive, tension filling the car.
"And you're sure it wasn't just a nightmare."
I rolled my eyes. "If it was a nightmare, it would've been scary. All I saw was Sam talking to this guy who's kid just died. A kid who probably was exactly like Sam and I." Dean nodded and we started driving, my phone rang just as we got into Indiana and I saw Ellen's name so I put it on loudspeaker.
