"Dust to dust, our bones will rust, and we shall start again"

-Dust to Dust, The Warning

Almost there.

As Gwen Stacy's body gracefully sailed through the air high above New York City, the traffic beneath her parted as a police cruiser followed her path-Captain Morales had his lights on, and was driving as fast as he could as the duo closed in on Columbia University's campus.

Gwen was inhaling sharply, but it wasn't as if a swing through New York City was physically overbearing at this point. No, her heart was pounding in her chest as the intensity of the face off with Otto built and built to an almost unbeatable level.

She stretched her arm forward and fired another web, trying to force her mind to go blank for the time being. But there were too many memories-all of them conflicting-for Gwen to just ignore how she felt.

Looking up to Otto back in high school...

Hearing his maniacal plan to kill her a month ago...

First meeting Otto and hearing his kind words towards her...

Otto and Gwen looking at each other like father and daughter when she interned for him...

Otto's mechanical arm punching a hole right through her true father's heart...

Gwen gritted her teeth, pulling herself lower as her college campus came into view. She flipped head-over-heels before landing on the top of Jeff's cruiser, one hand gripping the strap of her backpack that held her collection of 'spider-gadgets' at the ready.

She heard the sound of the driver's side window rolling down and leaned over to look at Jeff as he drove. "Just like old times, huh?" Gwen said, having to speak loudly over the rushing wind and car honks as Jeff swerved his way around any taxis or cars in his way.

"Sure is!" Jeff agreed. "Old suit and everything, too!"

Behind her mask, Gwen smiled at the comment. It was refreshing to be wearing her original spider-suit in front of the public again... the people of New York had probably gotten used to scattered sightings of Ghost Spider in her more menacing black suit and leather coat. Gwen's more iconic costume of white, black, and pink was almost assuredly a welcome change in the eyes of her fellow citizens.

"Hang on-" Jeff warned quickly, and Gwen gripped the top of the cruiser as tightly as she could. He veered off the road and onto the sidewalk before hitting the brakes hard. They'd reached the science building.

Gwen did a backflip off the cruiser, then slipped her backpack off her shoulders. She dug around in it and pulled out a small device that resembled a hockey puck.

"We should be clear to go in..." Jeff told Gwen, stepping out of the car before shutting the door. "...I've got Officer Dillon at the ready in case we need backup, but..." He paused, watching curiously as Gwen took a knee and set the device on the ground. "...What's that?"

The blonde dug around in her backpack again, pulling out a remote-like piece of equipment that she strapped to the back of her forearm. "An old toy that I updated the other day..." Gwen answered, hitting a button on the remote. "...Say hello to the spider-spy."

The small device on the ground beeped, then sprouted eight legs and a tiny camera from the front. On Gwen's remote was a screen that showed black and white footage from the camera as she worked the other controls, still remaining on one knee while intensely concentrating on her work.
