6:55AM

"Morning sunshine"
"What?" Mumbled Eddie "who are you?"
He heard a chuckle followed by a couple sentences he didn't catch, too tired to care. He finally woke up to see Buck, inspecting his wardrobe.
"Evan Buckley, why are you in my wardrobe? Let alone my house?!" Snorted out Eddie.
"Ohhh" cried out buck, exaggerating like usual. He knew Eddie found this humorous. "I don't know about you, but I remember coming here in the middle of the night, and a certain someone begging me to stay the night." At the end of that sentence, Buck winked at Eddie. This may of meant nothing, but to Eddie, this sent an aching feeling to his heart. "That doesn't sound like me at all" he replied, trying to get what little dignity he had left out of this conversation. He was glad Buck had come over last night, yet he would never admit it out loud. "Sweetheart, me and you both know what happened last night." Buck bragged. He edged closer towards Eddie and leaned down. It felt like time had stopped for a moment, only for Buck to wipe Eddies hair out of his eyes and smirk at him. Eddie knew that wasn't what Buck was going to do, well, he had hoped Buck was intending to do something else.

"Carla, thank you for taking Christopher to school, I don't know what I would do without you" laughed Eddie, truly thankful for Carla. Ever since Carla arrived, she had been such great help with Christopher.
"It's fine, you boys need to get to work otherwise you'll be late!" Joked Carla. Now was the hardest part of the day- saying goodbye to Christopher not knowing if he'd make it back home. " Goodbye Christopher, I love you" he echoed out. Christopher didn't have to leave for school for another hour, so was still sleeping. He needed the extra sleep, especially after last night. Guilt rose in his stomach. His thoughts were interrupted by two loud honks coming from outside - Buck.

"You look very miserable today" bellowed Buck. This was not what Eddie needed, he was tired and embarrassed as enough already.
"Too tired for this Evans" yawned Eddie.
"Aww. I'm only joking- lighten up a bit. Do you know what I like to say. It's-" Buck began to say, but was humbled by Eddie finishing his sentence.
"A good day to save life's. From that stupid show you watch. I don't understand why you enjoy it so much? They all die in the end, and it's just boring"
"Wow. That's a new low, even for you. The only reason you don't like greys anatomy is because George died. Isn't that right mister Diaz?"
Eddie scoffed to himself, hating how Buck knew so much about him.

As silence surrounded the car, Eddie thought back to the moment last night. He had woken up at 6AM, only to find his hand on Bucks chest. What surprised him even more, was that fact that Buck was holding it back. It had made is heart flutter, but that didn't have to mean anything. Buck was just comforting him after his nightmare. It felt so childish, saying it was a nightmare, yet it felt so real.

As soon as Buck and Eddie arrived at the firehouse , the alarm went off. As routine goes, they geared up and headed to the emergency. "Okay everybody" Bobby announced, preparing everyone for what's about to happen "we have a car crash, and in one of the cars involved their is a semi-conscious minor, who rang the 911 call." As soon as cap finished that sentence, Eddie thought of his own kid. He wondered how Christopher felt with Eddie working long shifts. Did Chris realise that one day, he might not make it home? "Eddie, we need you over here!" Shouted out Hen. Eddie forgot that other peoples lives where on the line, and quickly rushed over. "Buck and Chim are getting the victims out of the car. The parents are DOA, and the boy has a faint pulse and is unconscious. I need you to work on him whilst I work on the other car. Okay?" Explained hen. Eddie nodded, watching Hen sprint over to the other car with Ravi. Eddie took a few deep breaths before running over to the car. Buck and Chim had gotten the boy out of the car, and Buck was carrying him to the floor to begin CPR. As soon as he saw that boys face, his heart ached. The boy seemed around 9-11, Christopher's age. "I've got it from here Buck" he commanded, before sprinting over to begin CPR. Buck gave a slight nod before helping Chim.

It had been one minute, no sign of life. Two minutes, no sign of life. Three, four minutes no sign of life. They were now in the ambulance with Buck whilst Hen drove. "Let me take over, you're beginning to get tired-" Buck began to say.
"No. You won't be able to keep the same rhythm." Eddie argued. It had now been 5 minutes with still no sign of life. Him, Buck and Hen all knew it, the boy was dead. "Eddie, it's been 5 minutes..." Began Buck, but then stopped mid-sentence. Eddie glared up at him, still continuing CPR. Eddie continued until they arrived at the hospital, where he reluctantly left the boy with the nurses.

It was finally the end of shift, and it had been a long day. After the car crash with the boy, there was a house fire and man who had fallen off roof when trying to fix it. Eddie was just excited to see his son, and to tell him how much he loved him. With a job like this, it makes Eddie think how lucky he is everyday. He just had to make a quick stop at the shopping mall, to grab some balloons and a birthday cake for Carla's birthday. Oh shit. He had forgotten that he Buck had given him a lift this morning- Eddie car was being repaired. He got his phone out to call an Uber when Buck waltzed past. "Hey, I know this is a pain and everything, but I sort of need to make a pit stop at the mall. You cool with that?" Buck asked. "Yeah, I had to run a few errands anyways" Eddie replied.
