He always liked to take walks during the day. Even if he was alone, he felt less lonely when he was alone and taking walks. It was his moment. Plus he was taking that time to look for her .So he was taking a walk that day when he spotted her. She was talking with some kids who looked excited.
His smile softened when he saw her brightly smiling at the children. He had to admit, he had really missed seeing her smile. Even from afar he could hear her laugh, and it sounded angelic. She raised up and their eyes met. Her smile softened when she saw him.
Emma said goodbye to the kids before going towards the boy. But to her (not really) surprise, he had disappeared. She looked around in hope to see him, but he was nowhere. She felt a bit disappointed. She jumped a little when she felt someone's hand on her shoulder. She turned around to face the young man.
« Norman! You scared me! »
Norman chuckled, scratching his cheek.
« Sorry. It wasn't my intention. »
Emma let out a breath of relief.
« How's your nose today? »
« It's fine. It hurt a little, but it's fine. Like I said yesterday, I got worse before. »
« I'm glad I didn't break it too much. »
They started walking side by side. They chatted about different things, catching up with each other a little. There was one thing Emma still wanted to know.
« So, hum, Norman. Yesterday you said you were in a hurry. Why was that? »
Norman looked at her before looking back in front of him.
« Like I said, my brother needed me for something. »
« For a robbery? »
Norman bursted into laughter as he shook his head.
« No! No. Not for that. It was for his wedding's preparation. Him and his fiancé are really impatient to get married. »
« Wait- Huh, Ray?! »
Norman nodded.
« Yes. You remember him too. »
« Of course! I never thought he would be the kind of person to get married. »
« Haha! I know. I sometimes also have difficulty imagining him being married. But you should see them, they're so happy together. »
« I can only imagine. I hope I can see Ray again too. »
Norman teasingly nudged her.
« He would love it too, I'm sure. Even if he would never admit it. »
They laughed a little more before Emma had to go back to work. Before she could leave, the white-haired goat stopped her and handed her something.
« Here. You dropped this. »
Norman handed her her phone. Emma frowned as she looked in her pocket where she was sure she had put it.
« How- How did you do that?! I couldn't have dropped it?! »
« It's my secret specialty. And here. Thanks for letting me borrow it yesterday. I washed it the most I could. »
He gave her back the handkerchief she had handed him for his nose at the same time. Emma took it back.
« My handkerchief! Thank you. But still, how did you take my phone without me noticing? I was joking earlier, but you're also a robber, right? »
