When everyone knew that Emma was now nine months pregnant, they all made sure that there was at least one person with her at all time. It was mostly Yuugo or Anna that would stay with the future mother.

At Christmas, even if she knew he wouldn't come, Emma still made a gift for Norman. In hope he would come back.  She wasn't alone. Everyone had celebrated it with her. They had also celebrated her father's birthday at the same time.

It was a few days later, on the 27th of December, that her baby decided it was time for them to come meet their mother.

Emma was washing the dishes when a pain went through her. She let the plate she was holding fall to the ground when another pain hit her. She started panting as she tried to reach for her phone while more pain was coming.

She was alone at the moment, Ray was on his way to join her. He had been detained because of the traffic. The wolf had gotten his driving license since he was living with Anna so he wouldn't ask her for a lift everytime he needed to go somewhere. She tried to inhale and exhale, trying to control her breathing. It was hard when you were having a contraction every two seconds. She managed to grab her phone and to dial Ray's number. She waited as the pain was becoming more and more unbearable. She let out a sigh of relief that was immediately cut by a grunt of pain when she heard Ray answer.

« Emma?! Are you alright? »

« Ray- »

« I'm right here! Hold on! »

A few seconds after hanging up, she heard keys unlocking the door before it opened, revealing the black wolf.

« Ray- Argh! »

Ray rushed to Emma's bedroom, knowing that's where they left the stuff to bring with them at that moment, and ran back to her side to help her reach the car.

During the whole car ride to the hospital, Ray made sure Emma was alright. He told her what to do alongside reassuring things. He even held her hand the whole time, even if she was threatening to crush his fingers every now and then.

They both noticed the look of surprise of the nurse when they learned that Emma was alone, that Ray was just a friend accompanying her.

The cheetah never thought she would be alone in a moment like this. She had always imagined herself with the one she loved by her side. Not alone and in pain as she pushed for hours until she finally heard some wailing.

She raised her head that she had thrown back to give a last push. Her eyes were wide open and the tears of pain she had let escape had made place for tears of joy. She was all sticky in sweat and was extremely exhausted, but she was happy.

« It's a boy. »

The nurse cleaned her baby boy and did the check up they needed to do before wrapping the small boy in a blanket and gave him to the new mother.

Emma took her baby in her arms and immediately brought him closer to her chest. He was so small against her. He had the white hair of his father with a single orange strand on the right side of his face. The little being slightly opened his eyes to let them see the beautiful blue and green eyes. He had two little cheetah ears popping out of his hair, just like her. She also noticed, before being wrapped up in a blanket, that the little boy had a goat's tail, just like his father. In fact, he looked so much like his father that it made Emma sob even more.

Ray entered the room a little while later, when she had calmed down. He wasn't alone this time. Anna, Revna, Gilda, Don, their son Loid, and Yuugo came. They all came to see her. They all congratulated her. She was really sad to not see Norman with them. Even if she knew he wouldn't be there.
