Emma woke up with a headache. She let out a grunt as she opened her eyes. She wasn't home. She was lying on a couch with a blanket covering her and she was completely naked.Seeing herself naked and her clothes scattered on the ground made her remember the events of last night. She bit her lips as a smile appeared on her lips. She raised into a sitting position to see that she was alone in the small house. She frowned before getting up and dressing herself. She would have to take a shower once home to get rid of her soreness.
Norman wasn't inside, so she went to see if he was outside. He wasn't there either. She decided to go wait for him inside. Surely he hadn't left her here alone. I mean, it was his house after all.
She didn't have to wait much longer as the boy arrived a few minutes later.
« Good morning, Emma! How are you feeling this morning? »
Emma softly smiled at the boy's concern.
« I'm good. Just having a headache, that's all. And you? »
« I'm good. Here. For your headache. »
She took the pills he handed her, thanking him at the same time. She laid her head on his shoulder and he wrapped his arm around hers, bringing her closer.
« Emma? »
« Hm? »
« How did you get your scars? »
Emma stayed silent for a while before coming closer to him.
« I got involved in a bad car accident a few years ago. I don't remember what happened. I only remember a lot of pain and that I couldn't breath. It was like someone was choking me or was trying to suck out all of the air in my body each time I was trying to breathe some. I remember being unconscious for at least four weeks. I think I never scared my father this much before. »
She felt Norman nod on top of her head. She liked that feeling of peacefulness and well being she was feeling everytime she was in his arms. She liked how he knew when to stop asking questions. When it would become too personal or too hard to talk about. You know what I mean.
« I need to go back home so I can go to work. I don't want to... »
She hid her face in his neck as she pouted, making Norman chuckle.
« I need to go too. Ray and Anna need me to babysit Revna for them as they're both working today. »
She let out a grunt of annoyance as she got up. Before leaving, she gave him a kiss on the lips to which he responded by kissing her back.
« I meant everything that I said yesterday, Norman. »
The boy's eye widened before softening.
« Me too. »

Emma took a quick shower as soon as she was home. At least she was alone. She put on some clean clothes and left for work.
Once at the police station, she went to put on her uniform before joining her coworkers. She greeted each of them, like every morning. She stopped beside the chief who looked down on her.
She tiptoed to give him a peck on the cheek.
« Good morning, dad! »
« Good morning, pumpkin. »
She had made sure to hide the marks on her neck so she wouldn't have any weird questions.
Especially from Yuugo.

Norman managed to take a quick shower before Ray and Anna left. Revna was playing with her small cars in the living room. Yeah, Revna doesn't have dolls. She actually hates dolls.
Ray and Anna told them goodbye before leaving them alone.
Revna came to sit beside him. She touched his neck where he had a dark spot.
« How did you hurt yourself on the neck, uncle? »
Norman's eyes widened as his cheeks became a crimson red. He gave the little girl the most reassuring smile he could.
« You know Revna, sometimes you'll get bruises and won't even know how you got them. »
« Ooooh! Ok! Then who bites you? »
« I- Huh- I- You know what? Are you hungry? »
If it was even possible, the goat's cheeks were even more red than earlier as he took the little girl who was cheering in his arms and brought her to the kitchen.
Ah! The honesty of children. What would we do without it? Right?

It had been a good week now that Emma hadn't seen Norman. Curt was back from his business trip.
For your information, no. Emma never told Curt about that famous night. And yes. She really didn't know how to feel and what to do anymore. She was really lost.
And it seemed that Curt had noticed. He just never asked.
After four weeks after his come back, the couple was watching a movie while cuddling together when Emma suddenly became nauseous. Holding back her urge to puke, she ran to the bathroom, confusing Curt. When he heard her vomit, the reindeer immediately ran to her side to see if she was alright.
She was kneeling in front of the toilet. He knelt beside her and started rubbing her back. The cheetah was shaking so much under his touch that it broke his heart a little. She had never been this sick to the point she had to vomit.
She sat beside the toilet once she was done throwing up. She hid her face in her arms that were crossed over her knees. Curt came to sit beside her and wrap one of his arms around her shoulders. He could still feel her shake due to her sobs.
« Are you feeling better now? »
The girl shook her head.
« I-I don't know what's happening to me. *hiccup* I don't- »
A chock interrupted her. She raised her head to hide it in the crook of his neck, letting out all of her tears.
Curt wrapped his arms around her to bring her closer to him. He felt her tensed up before relaxing.
He didn't know what was happening to her, but he wanted to find out why she was feeling that way.
