Emma and Norman never stopped meeting after that. Even when Emma was working. They would always stop to talk when they saw each other.Norman had to admit, he loved her company. Ray was spending all of his time with Anna, so he was alone most of the time.
Emma wasn't working that day but had gone out because she wanted to see the boy. She found him crouched in front of some kitten, petting them.
She let out a chuckle as she made her way towards him. She leaned over him to see the kittens better.
In this world, I forgot to mention that there's humans, who are all half animals, and there's animals, like dogs, cats, birds, etc. You know, animals that you could have as pets. Don't ask me how this world works. It's magic. We can't explain magic, okay.
Anyway.
It's also forbidden to eat meat because animals are considered sacred. That's why you can't eat meat. But only meat, because you have to kill the animal for that. But they're sacred, so you can't do that. Nothing's holding you from eating eggs, drinking milk, or anything else from animals that aren't meat tho. As long as you don't kill the animals and eat meat, you're good. Would it be considered cannibalism if they would eat meat?
Anyways. Going back to the story now.
Norman turned around when he saw the shadow over him. He smiled at the ginger-haired girl who was also smiling at him. He got up, letting the kittens go back to their mommy.
« Hey, Emma. What brings you here? »
Emma shrugged as they both started to walk.
« I don't know. I guess I just wanted to see you. »
« Oh? Really? »
« Yeah, really. I was just walking around and I found you crouched there, petting some kittens. They were adorable by the way. »
Norman chuckled as Emma started to ramble about anything. He took the time to look at her better. Not that he hadn't had the occasion before, but his brain told him he should have a better look at her anyway. It was one of the rare occasions where she wasn't in a work uniform.
She was shorter than him, at least a head shorter. At least. Around that. Her ginger hair was always a mess. A tamed mess. Her two cheetah ears were poking out of there. Today, she was wearing a really dark blue, almost black, camisole and a white skirt reaching half of her thighs. She was also wearing a light yellow jacket that was falling off on one of her shoulders and that she kept bringing back up. She was wearing light blue converse-like shoes. Her claws/nails were painted a yellow color that suited her too well. Her skin was covered with spots and freckles. Freckles that were more visible under the sunlight. Her spots and freckles as well as the two lines going from the corner of her eyes to the corners of her mouth (like a real cheetah you know) on her cheeks made her emerald eyes stand out the most. Her tail was slowly wagging behind her as she talked. She was also wearing that necklace Norman remembers her always wearing. An eye shape with a turquoise-green gem in the middle attached by a black string. His eyes then traveled over her body. She had gained some forms over the years. Her lips were a faint shade of red, making them look attractive. A bit too attractive. Her chest was bigger now, not too big, not too small. He caught himself wondering how they would look like without any cloth-
« I'm talking too fast, aren't I? You can tell me if I talk too much. »
Emma's voice snapped him out of his thoughts. Just in time. He gave her a smile, hoping his cheeks weren't too red.
« You're not, don't worry. I like listening to you talk, actually. »
The cheetah didn't say anything before smiling.
