Chapter 8 Rematch

Shroom glouts about his pokemon.

"This is durant, isn't she so cute... and she's so strong as well".

Ash wouldn't have called the pokemon cute, but it certainly looked interesting, plus it did look strong with the metal platting around its entire body.

"I'm glad you found another pokemon, we might actually be somewhat equal now" Ash says quite arrogantly.

Shroom slightly scoffs responding "don't you think for a second I didn't train my crustle and ladyba, actually when we meet durant she was actually fighting an entire group of passimian, looked like the leader was really anger about something, and they coursed through entire forest fighting any pokemon they could find... durant didn't stand down though, she has the fighting spirit that I need to take out brock, plus" shroom looked at flint "durant is a metal type, and has a technique that is effective against rock types".

Flint spoke "it appears shroom you do have some sort affinity with bug types, looks like you really naturally drawn to them and they're drawn to you... there's nothing wrong with that, but make sure you do have a variety of typing when you make it to the league or you may be taken out by the first round"

Ash replied curiously "you sound like your talking from experience"

Flint responded "I am, I entered my first league at 14, my pokemon were composed of only rock types, I dominated the gym leaders at the time, looking back now, I realized I only fought the gym leaders that I was either neutral against or super effective, either way I lost against a girl who was younger than me, she had 4 water types and defeated my entire party with only 3 pokemon it was certainly humiliating, at least she became a gym leader shortly after".

Ash and shroom were stopping themselves from laughing as Flint looked away into the town "this training isn't about me, it's about you 2, save the strength of your pokemon for training, now that shroom is here, this will be alot easier to develop each of your pokemon, shroom your durant will have to be your ace, but only for Drednaw".

"Yeah I know fire beats metal... so would my durant have to spar against frosmoth, my durant isn't too fast so she'd need to compete against a fast but strong pokemon like frosmoth". Shroom spoke as if he was thinking about it before hand.

"Exactly, at the same time depending on ledyba strength I'd like them to go up against psyduck, she needs to get better at now fighting against an opponent that dodge, and ledyba could work on there endurance and stamina"

Ash completed flints sentence "and finally, hawlucha and starly can fight against crustle".

"Exactly are you all ready" Flint questioned.

Everyone who was involved had nodded perpared to do more training than perviously, which is what they did, a straight week of training was completed. A montage of hawlucha and starly jumping crustle was shown, as well as hawlucha punching wood able to control her wing attack by the end of the 2 weeks but no where close to get brick break.

Starly when not sparring with hawlucha and crustle was focused on further improving his agility and speed sweeping flying from tree to tree dodging anything that came to block his way. Crustle meanwhile was seen underneath a water fall, strengthening his shell under high pressure, staying in the water fall for as long as he could. At the same time ledyba was dodging psyducks blasts of water with ease, psyducks attacks weren't to fast especially since she couldn't control the water guns by to much. Whenever they did hit each attack was close to one shooting the ledyba, during the training to avoid an attack from psyduck that she couldn't have dodged she had learned the new move light screen, generating a wall of light that reduced the special attack of psyduck blasts.
