The ice cream parlour wasn't far from Jay and Alexias apartment and with Alexia finally knuckling down with her rehab they were going to be visiting here a lot more for rewards for the Spanish midfielder.
"Can I ask you something?" Alexia asked looking towards Jay who was trying to eat her ice cream but kept getting brain freeze causing Alexia to snort.
"Go for it" Jay replied a big smile on her face.
"Fancy coming to dinner at my madres house tomorrow? She's making her world famous paella".
"Erm yes I would! Is that okay? Do I need to bring anything at all or help prepare it?".
"No but annoyingly my mother and sister like you and I heard you and my mama talking about her paella the day I was getting my stitches out".
"Okay text me the details later" Jay said biting into the ice cream forcing her eyes to roll back from the brain freeze yet again.
"Idiota!" Alexia exclaimed laughing.

"I have to pop to the club this afternoon, would you like to come? Maybe show your face a little?".
"The club? Why have I done something wrong?".
"No I have my own therapy to attend to Ale, you've been perfect with your rehabilitation so far, might need an attitude adjustment but so far bribing you with ice cream is working wonders" this earned Jay a slap on the arm.
"Idiota! Yes I will come, I suppose I need to see  Jonatan anyway since I haven't answered his calls yet.
An hour or so later they were pulling up at the stadium car park, Jay could sense Alexia was anxious placing a hand on her thigh and giving it a gentle squeeze.
"Gracias, shall we do this?".
"Vamos!" earning yet another eye roll from Alexia at Jays childish ways.
Alexia went straight to her managers office and was greeted with nothing but love, Jay told her she would collect her in an hour.
Jay was now laying on the massage bed top off getting some scar massage work done on the large scar on the right side of her back. It was painful but necessary, Jay had a high pain threshold and ended up falling asleep. The therapist finished her massage and left Jay to wake up naturally letting Alexia know when she lightly knocked on the door.
Alexia peered in and was gestured over by the physio, she could see the scar really prominently this time and it took her breath away. It was deep and long and looked painful whatever happened had to of hurt.
"How?" She whispered to the therapist.
"She was stabbed by a machete, nearly killed her" was all the therapist said.
"What? How?" "Perhaps I've said too much, she's very sensitive about it maybe let her tell you".
Alexia nodded and waited another 5 minutes before waking up her therapist who was snoozing peacefully.

"Ay dios mio, sorry Ale. How long have I been out?".
"A while" came the voice whose hands had made her fall asleep.
"Have you been having nightmares again? How are you sleeping at home?".
Jay hung her head and quietly whispered "si they have been worse lately, I avoid sleep like the plague".
"Do you want some tablets to help you sleep?" "No thank you I just need to process things better I don't like taking any more tablets than I already do".
Alexia sat desperately trying to look like she wasn't eavesdropping but it was difficult because she was right there.

Jay then took Alexia home and came into the apartment with her just incase Olga would be there to confront her, she wasn't and her stuff had gone too which was a relief to Alexia.
"Gracias for today Jay I had fun".
"Me too Ale, see you tomorrow for early rehab and dinner round my favourite Putellas house?".
"I'm not your favourite?".
"Well you were then I met your wonderful mother!" Alexia couldn't disagree her mother was a literal angel.
"See you in the morning?" "See you in the morning".
Alexia embraced Jay with a goodbye hug the first they had yet to share with each other, it wasn't awkward it was nice, it was natural. Both of their bodies fit perfectly into each others gaps and they perhaps hugged longer than necessary before Jay pulled away closing the door behind her softly.

Alexia threw herself on the couch her mind going a million miles per hour. What a week it had been for her she was exhausted.
Jay walked across to her apartment and found her tires slashed, any guesses for who that may have been?
