Rehab

Chapter Twenty Four

The ambulance got there within minutes and Jays clothes were cut off and she was attached to wires instantly. Her pulse now rapidly declining as the family watched on in horror, one paramedic was monitoring her breathing while the other was attending the wound that was still bleeding heavily.
Alexia had come around at this point and seeing her girlfriend in that state made her sob in her sisters arms.
"Has she taken anything?", "no she hates drugs", "has she drunk alcohol tonight?".
"No she doesn't drink anymore".
"Does she take regular medication?".
"Her adhd ones yes" answered Alexia rapidly.
"She's been given something that has reacted badly with her medication she's going to need to come in".
"Will she be okay?".
"She'll be sent in for scans, the medication side will be okay but we don't know about the head injury as she is still unconscious and she's lost a lot of blood".
Alexia nodded she felt like she was trapped in a nightmare.

At the hospital Jay was rushed into theatre to see if there was swelling on the brain, she had yet to wake up and as Alexia and Alba sat waiting for hours they decided to rack their brains together to figure out how this had happened.
Alexia went through the entire night before Alba stopped her.
"Wait Maya brought her a drink? Maya that likes to take mdma? That Maya?" Alexias hands came to her mother in horror.
"I'll kill her" raged Alexia "not before I will" added Alba.

An hour later the doctor came out and asked for Alexia, he explained her scans were okay and that she will wake up in her own time but she wasn't awake yet and it could be days.
He exclaimed there was class a drugs in her system and that caused the seizure.
Alexia nodded knowing what he was going to say, he recommended her going to rehab to which Alexia declined saying she had been maliciously spiked and that she was anti drugs.
He also explained that because she had taken these drugs she couldn't take her adhd medication for a month due to the adverse effects to which Alexia nodded knowing the difficulties it was going to cause.

The doctor lead them into the room where Jay was asleep with wires attached to her still and her head bandaged. Alexia sobbed at the sight alone and Alba held her while she did knowing no words were going to make her sister feel better.

A week had passed and Jay had still not woken up and there was an evening game that  Alexia had to attend as captain even though she wasn't playing.
If she wasn't sat at the hospital she was working hard on her rehab, she didn't have time to see Jay today before the game and felt sad about it.

Jay woke up confused as to where she was, immediately pulling at the wires the nurses were alerted she was now awake and they started doing observations. Insisting she laid back down but Jay was confused, she was even more confused when she asked what day it was and the doctor entered and explained everything to which she was quite shocked about.
She had further testing when she woke up and as before there were no abnormalities but she was warned that she must take it easy to which she paid no attention to.
The police arrived knowing she had woken up and asked her some questions regarding what had happened but she didn't know or remember much so they informed her an investigation was underway and that they would be in touch.
After food and fluids she was allowed to leave due to her obs being great considering, the doctor explained her being in such good shape helped her tremendously.

She made her way immediately to the stadium as she sat down she saw Alexia talking to Mapi on the pitch.
She didn't want to make a scene so she sat down in the family and friends section and watched as the team warmed up and the fans cheered them on.
She felt hungry so went to get some food and a drink and bumped into Alba and Eli who burst into tears at the sight of her.
After making a huge fuss of her they finally got their words out.
"Have you seen her yet?" Asked Eli.
"No she's busy I didn't want to interrupt".
"Nope not happening" as Eli dragged her to pitch side and whistled towards Alexia whose eyes pinged open.
She cried too and flung her arms around Jay who she had been waiting for her to wake up the last week. As she hugged her she breathed in her scent deeply and nuzzled into her neck not wanting to let go anytime soon.
"Amor, I've missed you" as she kissed her on the lips the fans erupting.
"Are we public now?" Giggled Jay as Alexia kissed her again making the crowd roar again.
