Rehab

Chapter Thirty

Jay left the bathroom having had a long cold shower, mainly due to her muscles aching from her run. Her mood still as glum as it was before, like her feet pounding across the tarmac did nothing for her when it usually does. The thing is she did feel ashamed about her previous conquests, but that was before Alexia had come into the equation, she had never felt like this about anyone before and only wanted to feel this way with the Spanish captain.

Alexia sat moving her breakfast around with her fork and eventually gave up realising that coffee would be the only thing she had for a meal this morning. Luckily for her they had a simple yoga session today to loosen up their muscles from the flight, the real work would come into play tomorrow. Her mood as glum as Jays as she couldn't believe what she heard last night and also because she wanted nothing more than to be able to touch Jay right now who was making damn sure she was out of Alexias way. Neither of them were expecting this trip to turn out like this.

The team only had a small tactics meeting tonight so this afternoon would be spent going on a team walk within the city, it was meant to be a beautiful city too so Alexia was at least looking forward to it and hoped Jay would be joining them.

Meanwhile Jay had no plans of joining them, she was busy studying plans for her all prevention programme and had her head deep in news articles and scientific research. She had left the room knowing Alexia would soon appear and found a quaint coffee shop in the city centre, with her AirPods in she felt like now she could project whatever feelings she had into her plans for the future, the music being an escape to stop Alexia constantly running through her mind.

Alexia sighed when she had got back to her room and Jays phone was now gone as well as her laptop and she was obviously not there either, Alexia flung herself on her bed and stared at the ceiling wondering how she was going to make this right, she couldn't bear to be without her. Her thoughts now disturbed by Irene who had come to collect her from her room to join the team for their walk, Alexia threw her legs over the side of the bed and trudged out the room whipping her hood over her head to suit her mood.

Jay received a call from Beth Mead while she was at the coffee shop and soon they were in deep discussion about getting partners in to work with them, Beth was currently injured with her acl being torn too but so far was successively completing her rehabilitation.

The girls now in the city saw Jay who was working furiously on her laptop and talking to someone on her phone called out but she never heard them until Lucy came up and took her headphones out only join the conversation with her and Beth making Jay laugh before she apologised for disturbing them. Alexia stood at the back of the group watching on as her team collectively went over and annoyed Jay. Irene nudged Alexia who stubbornly refused to move instead taking a silent approach and sending a small smile her way which was for the first time in their relationship was ignored by Jay who carried on with her call and her work. Alexia didn't expect that at all and an uneasiness set in the pit of her stomach as she silently slipped away from her group and made her way back to her hotel.

Back in the hotel she called Alba and explained all, who obviously was going to side with Jay telling Alexia she was being a 'baby' and that Jay obviously had a love life before her and she already knew it. The thing is Alexia is a very jealous person and she loved Jay deeply so the thought of her with anyone else unsettled her. Alba reminded her that when Jay was away for months she wasn't with anyone and meanwhile Alexia was sleeping with Olga, which quite frankly sent a shudder down Alexias spine at the very thought of it. It was here that Alexia knew she was in the wrong and that Jay had always felt bad for her previous actions and the incidents that happened to make her make those choices in life.

Alexia got off the phone hell bent on making things right with Jay, and hoped that yet again they could get over this lovers tiff as she referred to it in her mind. Now with her team back at the hotel it was time for dinner, as they sat eating their dinner they saw the Wolfsburg team turn up.
