"Lo Siento, I saw you at the last minute" the jumbled Spanish coming from the girl standing above Jay who sat in the ditch with grazed palms now stinging from the dirt now sat in the wounds.
Jay couldnt even comprehend the soreness because she instantly knew that voice, it was a voice she knew well. Too well, the voice that had told her countless times she loved her, the voice that had moaned her name a thousand times, the voice that giggled at her shit jokes again and again.
"Its fine Ale im fine, I suppose its my own fault for walking along the road at night in a dark tracksuit" Jay replied sheepishly.
"JAY?!" screeched Alexia as she reached for her hands to help her up, "gracias but my hands are bleeding and also have dirt in them" Jay replied standing up and wiping her hands down her shorts.
"Lo siento, i promise I didn't see you", "its fine I swear".
"let me see your hands" it wasn't even a question as Alexia took her hands in hers to assess the cuts, they weren't deep but she winced when she saw them as they looked sore.
"Let me take you home and clean you up" she smiled apologetically.
"its fine ill walk, gracias", "im not asking, now get in" she demanded opening the passenger door.
Jay chucked her head back and sighed, Alexia now smiling as she shut the door and made her way to the drivers side, slipping in the seat effortlessly.
"same apartment?", "Si Ale, thank you".
"Why are you thanking me, I almost killed you", Jay laughed almost secretly wishing she had.
The silence was unbearable, "how have you been?" Alexia asked subtly.
"Yeah fine thanks" Jay wasn't rude but kept her answers short because this was neither the time or the place to talk or reconcile.
"you know I always knew you were a bad liar", "Si I really am, but I don't think we need to have this chat right now".
Alexias smiled dropped "okay.. do you want to listen to the radio?".
Jays eyes opened wide "can I plug my phone in?". "I thought you'd never ask" grinned Alexia as she handed her the aux cable.
Jay played the playlist her and Alexia made together, it wasn't lovey dovey in any way shape or form it was a playlist they could sing their lungs out too.
Alexia smiled as Jay grinned as she played Britney Spears as the opening song choice, she immediately belted the song out and Alexia laughed a deep laugh for the first time in months.
The journey was short and sweet before Alexia arrived at both of their apartments, she spotted Olgas car parked up and asked "can we clean you up at yours?", "Olga is home si?".
"Si" answered Alexia almost whispering the answer, "okay my place is it".
As they approached the door Alexia felt nauseous the last time she was here was when Jay had left her a note, walking through the door, the apartment had a familiar smell of cocoa butter and Hugo boss, Jays choice of moisturiser and perfume. It felt heavenly to Alexia as Jay invited her in and asked if she wanted a drink to which she nodded.
"Water okay? I haven't been shopping yet' Jay said looking around her apartment.
"Water is perfect" replied Alexia, who quite frankly would of chose water no matter what.
Sipping both of their waters, Alexia remembered why she was really there, "ay dios mio, let's get you cleaned up shall we?" Jay smiled and nodded and lead her to the bedroom which had the en-suite in it where the first aid kit was located.
