Chapter Seventeen

Jay and Alexia didn't spend the day doing much and Alexia had dinner at her mother's tonight.
"Amor will you join me?" Alexia asked as Jay was spaced out in her own head.
"If you want me to?", "I want you too" she smiled gently kissing Jay tenderly on the lips.

They got ready and Jay drove them to Eli's house excited to see her new family.
They were met with hugs and kisses from Eli and Alba and were ushered into the living room while the two finished preparing the table.

Dinner was great it was absolutely delicious as always with Jay thanking Eli after nearly every bite.
Alba smiled at Alexia who quite frankly couldn't keep her eyes off of Jay who seemed content with her new relationship.
Near the end of dinner Jays phone rang and her face screwed up excusing herself explaining she had to take it.

It was her lawyer. Who informed her that her stepfather was being released from prison in the uk.
Jays abrupt "what the fuck?" Must of started the Putellas family when Alexia appeared by her side and stroking the hair out of her face.
Alexia noticed the wave of concern that kept appearing on Jays face.
"He got out on good behaviour? How is that even a thing?".
Alexia tried to listen to establish what was going on but became confused.
"Yeah okay thanks for letting me know" Jay finished and ended the call.
Alexia cupped Jays face in her hands but Jay had a vacant look on her face, shaking her head and walking past her back to the table.
Alexia sat next to her gathering her hands in hers. Eli broke the silence first "is everything okay?".
Jay shook her head again but no words came from her mouth.
"Can we help with anything?" Asked Alba quietly.
Again Jay shook her head and reserved what was in her mind.
Jay turned slowly to Alexia and whispered "I need to lie down I feel faint" which made Alexia stand straight up and lift Jay by her waist and escorting her to her old bedroom.
Jay collapsed on the bed and curled up in a ball, the memories coming back to haunt her.
Alexia was talking to her but she didn't hear a word.
"Amor?.... Amor?" Alexia waving in her face brought her back around making her make eye contact for the first time in ten minutes.
"My stepfather is being released from prison".
"Bebe lo siento, why was he in there?".
It was at this moment Jay knew she had to confide in her girlfriend for her to understand.
After telling Alexia absolutely everything bringing them both to tears with every new bit of information, which made Jay relive the horror on every occasion the look across her face showed that she was still quite deep in her head about these moments.
At the end she sat quietly, not knowing what to say.

"Bonita, I promise you I will never let him hurt you again. I will always protect you i love you so much I'm so sorry they treated you like that".
"Im sorry I didn't tell you it's just a lot has gone on and I don't like talking about it. I'm going to file for a restraining order, if he knows I work with you he will come for every penny I have".
Alexia nodded pulling Jay into her chest and she gripped it tightly, tighter than she ever had before.
After twenty minutes Jay had crashed out on Alexias bed, exhausted mentally and physically, Alexia left the room quietly to tell her mother and sister what exactly was going on.
When she did tell them, she too broke down like Jay did. Eli also became emotional and Alba sat there motionless.
Alexia tried to help her mother tidy up after dinner but was sent to her room to look after Jay who was sleeping soundly, she curled up next to her pulling her in tight and whispered that she would always be there no matter what.

3am, it was always 3am that Jay couldn't get past without some kind of nightmare.
She sat bolt upright not recognising the room made it a lot worse.
"Mum?!" She cried out startling Alexia who woke up abruptly, pulling her down into her arms rubbing her back and explaining where she was.
A knock at the door with Eli pushing it open gently seeing Jay and Alexia awake.
The fear in Jays eyes and concern in Alexias made her step in that room and gather Jay in her arms. She needed a mother's love and that's what helped her calm down as Alexia left to go and get some fresh water for Jay.
When Alexia came back Jay was tightly wrapped in Eli's arms who whispered to Alexia that she was already asleep, the Spaniard slipped under the cover with her and her mother and Eli stayed there that night.
