There was rustling down the end of the phone as Jay said "Hello?" for the second time, "Hola mi amor" came the raspy spanish voice. "Ale baby? Whose phone are you calling off of? Are you okay?" Jay heard her sniffle a little and it broke her heart. "Im on a payphone bebe im okay I just miss you, I didnt get to talk to you earlier and I was worried" the Spanish midfielder confessed. "Lo siento baby I went for a run and accidentally left my phone behind, are you okay you sound upset", Alexia sighed "its hard here without you, I miss you and I could really do with holding on to you while I sleep". "I miss you too but I think its important you try and do this without me.. Jorge would never let me see you anyway" Alexia groaned knowing it was true. "You're right but it still hurts", "baby believe me I know I hate being away from you but we can do this okay! Now go and get some sleep I dont want you getting caught and me not being able to speak to you for the rest of the tournament". "Gracias bebe te amo mucho", "te amo muchos hermosa, adios" and Jay ended the gut wrenching call like someone had stabbed her in the chest.

The next couple of days went slowly and Jay could only wait for Alexia to call. The Spanish social media page was the only place where she could catch a glimpse of her girlfriend, it was odd all the players seemed so happy while in the clips. To the outside world maybe but Jay knew better, she saw it written all over Irene's face as she lined up for their next game against Zambia. It was evident that she had not been able to see or speak to her beloved son Mateo. Alexia managed to score in this game but was hauled off at half time, the anger dripping from her aura as she walked to the bench before slouching down into her shirt pretending to focus on the game. The game went past in a breeze one that undeniably everyone knew that Spain would win, with the final score being a resounding 5-0.

In the press conference Jorge praised himself but didnt loosen his grip on the players demanding more of them, maintaining that Jenni and Alexia would need to work closely together before the next game in order for them to link up better. Jay could have sworn she saw Aitana roll her eyes at her manager and it made her smile knowing that she wasn't alone in whatever this Jenni/Alexia agenda Jorge was pushing to the media.

An hour later an incoming phone call from Alexia came through to Jays phone "Hola Baby", Alexia grinned at the cute welcoming from her girlfriend "ay dios mio youre so beautiful amor, lo siento its been such a long time" she sighed heavily. Jay could tell she was stressed, the anxiety was held in her shoulders and all she wanted to do was lay behind her and pull her into her chest and place kisses in her hairline to rid her of all of that pressure that had pent up. "Si it had, but it's okay im glad we can talk, how are you?" Jay said providing a reassuring smile. "Im okay I just miss you that's all, at least we won today" Jay nodded but frowned. "You did but you looked stressed when you came off", "of course I was stressed" snapped Alexia abruptly who then regretted her words when Jay flinched through the camera. "Ay dios mio lo siento I didnt mean too, it's just nothing I am doing is good enough. I am homesick, I miss you, my family, Barcelona...". Jay took a breath trying to choose her words wisely "do you need me there? I miss you too" Alexia shook her head "I just needed to hear your voice, he's putting so much pressure on us..." the call was interrupted. "ALEXIA you dont deserve your phone tonight after todays performance hand it over please, Maya should not of given it to you and for that she will be punished!" Jay could hear him enter the room "ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME, DO NOT TOUCH HER YOU CU" the line cut out.

"Alexia what have I told you about this, she is a distraction" his hand was squeezing her wrist tightly. "Jorge let go of her" Jenni shouted as she was one of the first players that had entered the room as well as numerous others as they had heard it kicking off. Jorge snarled picking Alexias phone up and snapping it in half in front of her before leaving as the players stood there gobsmacked. Misa was the first one to reach Alexia who was crying so hard no noise was coming out "Breathe Hermana" she begged as Alexia wailed. Nobody had ever seen Alexia in this state ever, not after the loss of the champions league or her acl rupture.
