Kaveh POV
"You don't get it, Tighnari!" I shout, frustrated. "He's so infuriating!"
I take another large gulp of my pint before letting my head fall, and hit the table. I couldn't care if it hurt to be quite honest. I just wanted Alhaithem to stop being so god damn difficult.
Me and Alhaithem have been roommates for quite a few years now. No one was supposed to know, considering he's "Acting Grand Sage", another title to boost his fucking ego to use against me. Although we argue... a lot... I'm still grateful for him taking me in after seeing I was in debt. But still, he is so fucking infuriating, he makes me want to rip my hair out.
"Yes, Kaveh, we've been over this six times. You'll say like one or two nice things he's done, then blame that on his ego, then say 'but you don't get it, he's so infuriating' or whatever." Tighnari replied, mocking Kaveh.
"Hey, that's enough, you two." Cyno said, clearly annoyed. This earned him a kiss on the cheek from Tighnari.
I am so envious of their relationship. They love each other unconditionally. They have their little squabbles, but barely. They truely were the perfect couple in my eyes, and I wanted that so bad. I have been touch deprived for archon knows how long, and I have to sit here, play TCG and watch them be lovey dovey. Needless to say, I'm very jealous.
"Anyway," Tighnari starts, "how has Alhaithem been since his pro-" he got cut off. "Well, talk of the devil." He finishes his sentence, watching the tall, slender and handsome- girl what- no. Watching Alhaithem walk into the tavern.
"Didn't expect to see you here, Grand sage." I said, not looking at him.
"It's not polite of you to have your back turned to me when saying hello, Kaveh." Alhaithem replied.
See? Infuriating.
Tighnari and Cyno exchange a look at each other, giggling as they did.
"Oh, shut up you two!" I snapped.
Alhaithem put a hand on my shoulder, making me jump from the sudden touch.
"I'm going to get a drink. Do you want anything?" Alhaithem asks.
"Aww, really? You're ACTUALLY being nice to me today?" I teased at him.
"Okay then. I'll take that as a no."
"WAIT NO- ILL HAVE A KINGFISHER REFILL PLEASE ALHAITHEM!" I yell as he walks away to the bar to order his, and most likely not, my drink.
Alhaithem returned with pints for everyone, even me. I was a bit flattered, considering he only ever thought of himself because he's an egotistical piece of shit that likes to shove his authority up peoples asses- you know what? I'm gonna stop myself right there.
Anyway, we were all enjoying our drinks and playing TCG, until Alhaithem broke the silence.
"Is this literally all you do? No talking? Asking how each other's days were?" He asked, irritated from the quietness. He was an odd one, to be fair. He wears headphones because of his sensory issues with loud noises, he has a carpet in his study and his office to mute people's shoes against the loud wood flooring, but he hated outright silence. I never understood this, but I'd always respect it, regardless of what argument we are in at the time.
"Oh, sorry your majesty." I begin. "How was your day, my liege?" I ask, hearing a giggle from Tighnari."Actually,"
Oh here he goes.
"It was quite bad."
Oh. I feel dumb now.
