Despite my better judgment, I found myself irresistibly drawn into Christian's world as we worked side by side to prepare for the party.

Following our tutoring session, I lingered to lend a hand in arranging the venue, swept up in the flurry of activity as we transformed the space into a vibrant celebration awaiting its guests.

"How about instead of full face masks, we opt for something subtler, like blindfolds?" I suggested.

"That sounds good," he agreed, nodding as he glanced down at his list.

"And how do you plan to inform everyone about the change?" I inquired, curious about his strategy.

"Oh, I'll just send out a mass text," he replied casually.

"Wait, really?" I asked, surprised by the simplicity of his approach.

"Yeah, I have everyone's contact in my phone. By the way, how has your project been coming along?" he inquired, shifting the conversation to my writing project.

"Well, actually, it's going great. I've decided to delve into both sides of obsession," I revealed. "It's due tomorrow, but I might just pull an all-nighter to finish it."

"That sounds beautiful," he remarked, his eyes reflecting genuine interest. "How long is it going to be?"

"Surprisingly, the teacher never specified, so I might just stick to my usual six pages," I replied.

"It'll be great. I'm sure I would love to see it on the shelf one day," he said, a hint of admiration in his tone.

After that, I headed over to Mel's place with Lora in tow. "Hey?" I greeted as Mel opened the door, her smile stretching from ear to ear. "Wow, aren't you happy?" Lora remarked, noticing Mel's radiant expression.

"Yes, because you'll never guess what happened," Mel exclaimed, her excitement palpable.

"Uh... yeah, I have no idea. Tell us," I urged, intrigued by Mel's enthusiasm.

"Well, after Damon and I decided to take a little break, I was thinking we could all have a huge sleepover!" Mel revealed, her eyes shining with anticipation.

"When?" Lora inquired, caught up in the excitement.

"After the school party. That way, we can all crash here, party the next day, and then sleep again," Mel explained, her excitement contagious.

"Sounds fun to me," I chimed in enthusiastically.

With that, we walked into Mel's house, ready for whatever the night had in store.

"By the way, Y/N, I've been meaning to ask you something," she began.

"Yeah?" I replied, trying to sound casual.

"What's up with you and your phone?" she questioned, her curiosity evident.

"What do you mean?" I stammered, feeling a pang of guilt.

"I don't know, you've been glued to it for a while now," she observed.

I almost sighed in relief. "Oh, that? It's just because of the huge writing project I have going on. I have all my notes saved up, and I just feel like the more I write, the less I have to worry about writer's block," I lied through my teeth.

"Oh, okay," she accepted, unaware of the deception.
