The next day, I texted Jess and Lora, eager to catch up, but only Jess responded. Disappointed, I then messaged Mel, hoping for a reply, but received nothing in return.

The silence from Mel left me feeling uneasy, a sense of unease creeping into my thoughts. I paced around his library. I don't know why but I felt drawn to it.

I heard something strange, a rough, strangled yell for help that made my heart race and goosebumps prickle along my skin. As I moved towards the sound, panic began to rise within me, my mind racing with terrifying possibilities. I sensed Chris right behind me, his presence unnerving as his breath tickled the back of my neck.

"I really have to stop you from prying around. You'll ruin the surprise," he said, his voice low and ominous, sending a shiver down my spine.

"S-surprise?" I stuttered, my voice trembling with fear as I struggled to comprehend the situation.

"Yes, but... I've been wanting, needing for you to just... defy me," he continued, his words dripping with an unsettling intensity that only fueled my growing sense of dread.

As I hurried away from him, my footsteps quickened with desperation, the urgency of my movements betraying the panic coursing through me. But he kept advancing towards me, his steps slow and deliberate, his intentions shrouded in mystery and my fear escalating with each passing moment.

"What is down there?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper, a knot of apprehension forming in my stomach.

"You're just so smart, my baby is so smart... You could find out for yourself, but you'll have to deal with the punishments," he replied, his words oozing with a sinister edge that made my skin crawl.

"What?" I asked, my voice trembling as I took a hesitant step back.

"You heard me," he said, his tone chillingly calm as he advanced towards me. I felt a sense of dread enveloping me, like a thick fog, as I found myself cornered in his library.

His eyes bore into mine with an intensity that sent a shiver down my spine, a predatory gleam flickering in their depths.

I tried to suppress the rising panic as I realized the true nature of the man standing before me. The facade of charm had slipped away, revealing a darkness lurking beneath.

This was the Chris he kept hidden, the one I had sensed but dared not acknowledge.

Deep down, I knew that confronting him would only unveil more horrors hidden within his twisted mind.

I kept hearing the strangled help but the more I looked into his lust filled eyes the more I realized this was a trap, like flies ensnared by silky threads, they struggled against the invisible bonds, only to find themselves further entangled in the devious machinations of their captor.

My back pressed against the cold wall as I looked into his eyes, his hand tilted my head up.

"Don't you want to see the surprise?" He whispered in a tone I didn't understand

Desire?

Longing?

His eyes held so much of it, it looked like it physically pained him.

"No" I forced myself to say

And he smiled a twisted smile, showing his perfectly white straight teeth.

"Are you sure?" He teased, leaning in close enough for me to catch the intoxicating scent of his cologne. As our noses nearly touched, I saw his gaze drift unmistakably to my lips.

I swallowed hard.

"I am very sure," I managed, though my voice came out breathier than intended.

"So smart..." He muttered as if he were in a trance.

The air between us was charged, electric, and I fought against the urge to close the scant distance between us.
