COLE'S POV

Lily is now 7 months pregnant. I moved in with her but I still do ninja stuff if there is any ninja stuff to do. I got a part-time job as a lumberjack and because of that I have most days of the week off which I can spend with the most beautiful person that came into my life. I was spending time with her when I got a call from Jay.

"Who is it?" Lily asked.

"Jay..." I groaned. I was deciding whether or not to pick up until Lily took the phone from my hands, put it on speaker, picked up and gave the phone back.

"Hello?" I said.

"About time, man!"

"What's up?"

"oOh WhAtS uP- NYA IS GIVING BIRTH GET YOUR FUCKING ASS HERE!" Lily giggled and gestured for me to go. "IT'S NOT FUNNY COLE, YOU WERE LITERALLY MY BEST MAN!"

"I didn't laugh," I said rushing to the car, "It was some kid I was walking past."

"I need you right about now!"

"Is Kai not there?"

"He's ALSO on his way to the hospital but he's stuck in traffic and Zane is at work."

I drove into the city, "And what makes you think I won't be stuck in traffic?"

"Because you're IN the city, not outside of it! There's traffic outside of the city, not inside of the city and since you ditched us to live in the city because of fAmiLy iSsUes, you live closer to the hospital!"

"Okay, okay! I'm here!" I parked the car and rushed into the hospital and to the front desk.

"Who are you here to-"

"Nya Smith, she's giving birth right now. Her husband is-"

"COLE GET HERE MAN I'M STRESSING OUT!" Jay yelled through the phone.

"We don't have a Nya Smith, but we do have a Nya Smith-Walker though."

"Same thing! That's her!"

"Who are you to her?"

"Brother in law! What room is it?"

"503."

I rushed upstairs and down multiple corridors. I finally saw Jay who was waving at me from down the corridor. He wasn't IN the hospital room, though.

"Why are you out here?"

"They wouldn't let me in. I'm really scared Cole. What if she doesn't make it?" Soon enough, Kai came running through as well.

"Which she?" Kai asked. "Jaya or Nya?"

"Both." Jay answered.

I hugged him, "Jay they'll be fine, just you wait."

"I can't wait any longer, I'm terrified."

We waited outside of the room for what seemed like forever. Jay was anxiously biting his nails, Kai was fidgeting and now I was tryna comfort the BOTH of them.

The nurse opened the door, "Who are you to see?" she asked with a checklist in hand.

"Nya Smith-Walker," we answered in sync.

"Right... Follow me." We followed her to Nya, who sat there pretty traumatised - her face was wet with tears. But the thing was... There was Nya, but no baby. "I'm sorry, the baby didn't make it," the nurse announced.

We all looked at Nya, whose eyes were filling with tears. Jay hugged her as she melted into Jay's arms, "Th-they didn't e-even l-let me see h-her..." she choked out between sobs.

Kai held her hand while I put my hand on her shoulder.

- six months later - 

Four months ago Lily gave birth to our son, Caleb. I didn't want to tell anyone about her let alone the birth of Caleb because of what happened with Nya's kid. It hit them pretty hard...

Anyway, I was playing around with my four-month-old until it was dinner time. After dinner, Caleb was really sleepy so I put him to sleep and went to the living room to chill with my Yang.

"I'm glad that I get to spend time with you. I know that you can sometimes get busy with that ninja stuff sometimes..."

"Yeah... It's sometimes really hard to balance that stuff together." I put my head on her lap and looked up at her, "I'm glad I get to spend my free time with you..." She leaned over and gave me a little kiss.

"Does the ninja stuff not tire you?"

"Sometimes. But it's my job and my passion and I love it. Besides, ninja never quit."

She chuckled, "Yeah, you mentioned." 

I groaned when my phone started ringing. I took my phone out of my pocket and looked at the caller ID. "It's Jay..."

"Pick up!"

"Hello?" 

Jay seemed really... gloomy. "Hey, Cole, what's up?"

"I'm good, I'm good."

He sighed. "Dude, you rarely ever come to the monastery anymore. Is everything okay?" he asked, clearly concerned.

"It's kinda complicated," I said, looking up at Lily who was frowning slightly.

"Damn, you should come by- WHAT DO YOU WANT, KAI?" Jay yelled. I had to pull the phone away from my ear. Even Lils flinched and tried to hold back her laugh.

"What sort of emergency?" Jay asked Kai.

"I dunno, apparently urgent, who are you calling?" I can hear Kai faintly in the background.

"Cole."

"Oh, hey Cole, Master Wu needs you here. Some sort of emergency." 

I sighed. "I'll be there."

"An emergency?" Lily asked.

"Yeah..."

"Okay, I understand. Stay safe, okay?" I got up and wrote the monastery's address on a piece of paper. 

"I should be back soon but in case I'm not, go here. If anyone is there, they'll tell you what's up, okay?" I kissed Lily before heading out. 

...I thought I'd be back sooner but I was kinda stuck in the 17th Realm with Lloyd and Nya...
