COLE'S POV

My eyes fluttered open, revealing slightly blurred surroundings. I sat up with a groan and rubbed my head. "What happened?" As my vision became clearer again, I glanced around where I was sat and saw a newspaper next to some bright blue junk titled "THE MERGE" and consisted of many pictures of that freaky pink storm thing I witnessed earlier.

I stood up and looked around and found an opening within this junkyard. The sun was setting as I headed straight to this potential exit, manoeuvering through the piles of junk. I continued reading the paper. "All of the 16 Realms have now merged into one land. The land area of what used to be Ninjago to most of the population, multiplied by as much as..." My voice trailed off as my eyes widened at the number the land area multiplied by. I continued reading aloud to myself, "The number of deaths or survivors is still unknown as a result of this historical event."

Oh shit, I thought. "I have to find the others!" I exclaimed, looking up from the paper. I ran ahead but stopped after a few steps when noticing familiar blue metal junk. "B-But I was just here..." I looked around me and noticed a thick fog starting to pick up. I walked backwards towards the exit while locking my eyes at the blue object. I looked at the exit and it wasn't there; instead, there was a thick fog. To the right of me, was the same blue object I woke up next to.

"No, no, no, no, no. This can't be happening," I panicked. "Don't worry, Cole. It's probably just a bad dream, right?" I picked up my pace to a light jog before sprinting towards the exit. I was suddenly surrounded by a thick fog and found myself next to the blue piece of metal again. "ARGH!" I yelled out in frustration before running in the other direction. Unaware of my surroundings, I was met with a sharp pain and the next thing I saw was blackness.

FRITZ'S POV

Spitz and I were doing our usual scavenger hunt as we do every morning. Since the Merge the other day, there's been sooo much more junk. We got to the edge of The Land of Lost Things, and stumbled upon a body.

"Do you think he'ssss dead?" Spitz asked.

"Uh..." I fiddled with my fingers nervously. We never came across a lost person apart from ourselves. But we weren't lost because of the Merge... We ran away from home and were simply forgotten by society. However, we didn't mind. We have a new family. The Finders. Sure, we are trapped here forever, but it's home.

I slowly walked up to the person laying on the ground. He had jet black hair and was wearing a black gi. He had a cut over his right eyebrow. "He must've hit his head pretty hard..."

"Maybe we should get Geo..."

I hesitantly kneeled next to the possibly dead man and placed my ear next to his parted lips. I sighed with relief. "He's alive. Let's get Geo!"

"That'ssss what I sssaid!" We came back with Geo who took him back to the rookery. Bonzle watched as he laid the man down on the couch.

"Uhh... So you didn't find any bones?"

I sighed, "No, Bonzle. We didn't find any bones."

"I guess you found flesh and bones," she said with a dry chuckle. "Who is this guy anyway?"

While Spitz and I shrugged, Geo let out a little hum before inspecting the man's features. He grabbed a wet tissue and wiped the blood from the man's cut. Geo went to get something. The man winced. We averted the gaze to the man whose eyes fluttered open.

His eyes furrowed in confusion as he rubbed his head. He sat up with a groan, "Where am I?"

I excitedly ran over to him. "Morning, fella! You're in The Land of Lost Things! This is Bonzle, Spitz and I'm Fritz! What's your name?"

The man sat up and looked around before asking. "H-How do I get out of here? I-I've been running in loops a-and I-"

He was interrupted by Geo who entered the room with a small first aid kit. "Oh! And this is Geo!" I introduced.

"Did you say you were running in loops?" Geo asked.

"Y-Yeah..."

Geo frowned. "I'm sorry... There's no escape from The Land of Lost Things. Once you're lost, it's likely that you'll never be found. We're all trapped here just like you. We made this place our home."

COLE'S POV

My breathing quickened. I can't believe it. What do I do?

"Hey, buddy. Everything will be okay. What's your name?" Geo asked.

"Cole..."

Geo took out a large band aid. "You must've hit your head pretty hard," he stated with a warm smile as he put the band aid over my right eyebrow.

My cheeks warmed up a little. "Th-Thanks..."

"Wait... You're one of the ninja!" Spitz exclaimed.

I chuckled. "Yeah. I'm the Elemental Master of Earth."

"Geo has powers too!" Fritz said.

I glanced up at Geo and gazed into his amber eyes, and I couldn't help but smile at them. "Really?"

He scratched the back of his head and his cheeks grew pink. "Yeah. I'm the Master of Fusion. I can make an unbreakable bond between inanimate objects. I usually just use my power to make sculptures and stuff... I-It's not that interesting..."

"It actually sounds pretty cool! Can I see?"

"Sure!"

Although I barely met these people, who call themselves The Finders, I instantly felt comfortable around them. As if they're family.

My... other family.

...my other other family... But still family.
