DANTE'S POV

I sat up from my sleeping position and rubbed my temples "Mamma calmati" I said into the phone and looked at the time. It was fucking two a.m
(Mom calm down)

Shit

I didn't know the right words to say to her because firstly, I didn't know how to comfort anyone for fuck's sake and secondly I didn't know how I even felt about what she was telling me now. I ought to be happy, to have a sense of satisfaction but I felt...nothing

"Sì, sì, ci vediamo lì, mamma" I was already out of the closet and walking to the door. I got to the middle of the hall before I heard a little noise behind me. It was my cute girl
(Yes, yes I'll meet you there mom)

My voice and stomping may have woken her up and now she stood by her door half asleep and curiously looked at me

"You—where are you going?" she asked and stepped towards me "I know you're going to push me and everything that happened last night aside but can you wait until morning to do that? It's just two a.m and you're eager to go away?" I looked down at her and she was still in last night's shirt which barely covered her thighs. I willed myself to look at her face and not anywhere else

"I'm not leaving because of that. Just go to sleep" I told her shortly. I know I did ignore her most days but some days, not so much. How could I not ignore her when all I thought about was fucking her brains out anytime I was around her? I just needed to keep sane so I go as far as I can, away from her

"You have to go to sleep too" she commanded lightly and I smirked. My phone vibrated again and I looked at the name before answering

"Mamma non sto cercando di trascurare nulla. Te l'ho detto che ci sarò, quindi lo farò. Essere. Là" I hung up and huffed loudly
(Mom I'm not trying to neglect anything. I told you I'll be there so I'll. Be. There)

"What's going on?" she gave me a concern look and I tried to maintain a calm tone

"Nothing. Go back to your room"

"You don't look like it's nothing" I didn't know how she could read me by looking at my face because I was sure I had a poker face "Are you okay?"

"I'm going to the hospital" I didn't know why I told her but I did

"Are you—Oh my god! Are you okay? What is..."

"It's not me. My mom called and...Stefano was rushed to the hospital"

Her hands flew to her lips in a second and released a gasp "I'll—I'll go with you" she said after coming out of her shock "And please don't tell me to stay here because I won't be able to sleep after knowing this"

I looked at her and contemplated "Okay, you can come with me"

"I'll go get changed and be right back" she turned towards her room but she stopped to look at me "Come with me to my room"

"What?" It was just an innocent request but thoughts were going through my brain.

Dirty thoughts

"Umm I can't trust you. You accepted so easily so I feel you're going to leave without me" she explained and pulled me towards her room. I looked at our linked hands as she led me to her bedroom.

I thought she was going to be reserved after she knew I didn't like physical contact but she just didn't mind and I didn't feel bothered.
