THIRD PERSON'S POV
"MAMMA you need to go home and rest" Dante told his mom who sat at the edge of Ambra's hospital bed. Eleanor didn't want to leave her daughter's side even for a second
"Yes mom, you need rest. You've been here for two nights already" Elerra went to hold Eleanor's shoulder
"I can't leave her here alone" Eleanor said to her two children
"We're here now. We'll take care of her" Elerra offered
"Bernardi said she's stable now and may wake up at anytime. What if she does and I'm not here?" Eleanor didn't want to be away from her daughter.
She prayed everyday to see her daughter's eyes again, to have her cause troubles so she could scold her with a loving heart but she wasn't waking up and it was breaking Eleanor's heart
"Mom..." Elerra started but the door opened to reveal Jay "What are you still doing around us?"
"I wouldn't be here if it wasn't about my cousin" Jay said and took Kenzie's phone from his pocket "The last people she called were you and I..." he looked at Dante "...do you have any idea why she called you?"
"If you're going to check well, I didn't answer her phone calls" Dante said shortly
"She called you several times and you didn't bother to answer any of them? Didn't you think it may be because she was in trouble?" Jay stared at him
"You still haven't found her?" Dante asked before he could stop himself
The truth was Dante thought of answering her calls five months ago but his head and heart weren't in alignment. His heart wanted to answer and hear her sweet little voice again but his head and ego made him turn his phone off
"If she's in trouble then she deserves it. Now can you leave?" Elerra spoke
"I need to talk to Ambra. She's the only person who can at least give me information about what happened that night. It's been a month now and the police aren't finding any clues" Jay walked forward but Dante stopped him
"She's still unconscious" Dante said
"Show your face one more time and I might put you in your place before I find your cousin and deal with her myself" Elerra bellowed "Leave!"
"Why're you all shouting? Jeez" a croaky voice said making everyone swirl around to look at Ambra. She was holding her head with her eyes closed
"Am-Ambra" Eleanor whispered and went to hug her daughter and didn't stop even when Ambra whimpered in pain. Elerra was next to hug her sister and littered her face with kisses "I knew you were going to wake up"
"I was surely going to wake up, it's not like I was dead" Ambra said and groaned when her mom hit her
"You can't say something like that" Eleanor cried but her daughters smiled
"Brother" Ambra called for Dante when she looked at him. Dante walked to her and held her hand. When Ambra wasn't waking up, he started to regret not spending enough time with her sister.
He didn't want to be close to his family until Kenzie came along. She made him get involved in his family's life and as much as he didn't want to confess it, he felt warm
